@nbaldwin75 The male frontal cortex doesn’t mature until early/mid 20’s. Even the smartest kid is going to miss stuff like this. Probably better to err on letting it slide and get him his spikes. Treat people fairly & NOT the same because EVERYONE is indeed different.

Consider these data points when evaluating the value of throwing the ball over or near the plate( Strikes to balls). Keep your pitches COMPETITIVE so hitters have to make swing/no swing decisions on every pitch. Hits are RARE. “You are the house & the house always wins.”

Players: The simplest thing you can do to separate yourself from others is ACTUALLY WANT to be at the field, practice, cage, weight room, & games. As you move through the ranks you find more & more players that don't WANT to be there. Seems easy but you have to really LOVE it!
