There is so much ignorance about Israel and Israelis. They are so many lies told by anti-Israel haters.
I like the personal touch so I thought I would take you on a bit of a tour to meet some:

@Greens4P You guys need to open a history book.
The Arabs (who did not call themselves Palestinians back then) certainly chose to start a civil war with the Jews. Their aim was to rid the area of Jews. And the Arabs lost.
They call this defeat the "nakba"

Palestinians didnโt ask for this.
No one asks for dispossession, apartheid
and ethnic cleansing.
People of conscience have a duty to see this horror and work for a fully liberated Palestine, from the river to the sea.
One of the things I enjoy most about Israeli election time is watching western mainstream media making absolute fools of themeselves as they show how little they understand about Israel, Israelis and Israeli politics.
It really is as if they live in their own ficticious world.
@awesomeseminars You have a problem with intelligence services investigating evidence of foreign funding being used to bribe voters?
You think they should not investigate?
Breaking: Israeli intelligence is currently investigating "serious suspicions of foreign funding and election bribery."
The suspicion is Qatari state money was used to influence the Israeli election - bribing members of the Arab community - and paying them to go out and vote.
@IvanSaidenberg@kann_news@N12News What is wrong with you? There is no conspiracy. There is a factual basis for asking what went wrong with the polls (again), and why some channels have a history of this. Numerous outlets are asking the same question. As they should.
For some reason it triggered you.
Israel election update:
Not finished with the counting yet, and every single seat matters here. Whether Netanyahu's 'bloc' ends up on 57 or 53 matters greatly.
Netanyahu's party is going to end up as the largest party by some margin. It is clear @kann_news@N12News and @newsisrael13 have been producing misleading and possibly ideologically driven polls for the last few years - that skew badly against the Likud. Given polling can influence an electorate - there should be a serious investigation into whether this was just incompetence, or something more sinister. This matters. In the end it appears @i24NEWS_HE have been closest all along.
Netanyahu will not have a natural 61 seats needed to form a functioning coalition.
Much of this is personality driven. In reality most of the "change" bloc could ideologically sit with Netanyahu to form a wide and stable government, but the feeling of "enough" has created real frustration in opposition parties. The inability to unseat Netanyahu because of the system makes the current Israeli situation particularly bitter and without much parallel.
The leader of the largest opposition party @gadi_eisenkot has learnt nothing from history, and presented a victory speech based on partial and misleading exit polls. Beyond highlighting his inexperience, it did not tell us much.
Western media wants change, and so much of the reporting was focused on this. They skewed the reporting to paint an anti-Netanyahu picture that simply fell apart as the night progessed. Being on the inside and understanding Israeli politics as I do - it really was embarrasing to watch such ideologically driven and incorrect hogwash present itself as "expert" commentary.
If the results hold - it would be electorally difficult for the change bloc to depend so totally on the Arab parties for survival. If they had received a strong result (in the mid 50s), theoretically they could have tried minority rule - but if they remain in the late 40's, it would be almost impossibe to sell this to the electorate. The dependency would be too great - moreso during a period of conflict.
The final results may even be slightly stronger for Netanyahu's bloc as the "soldier''s votes" are yet to be counted. And they traditionally swing right. The post-Oct 7 situation may even enhance this.
In an adult world, the parties that represent the vast majority of the Israeli electorate would form a united front capable of dealing with all of the existential questions that Israel needs to face. The numbers are there. The sad reality is that the hostility Netanyahu faces, may render that impossible.
The President is likely to hand the baton to Netanyahu first, as leader of the largest party, to see if he can form a government. His party are likely to test the resolve of parts of the opposition to see if some will jump ship.
If Netanyahu fails, Eisenkot will go next. In the likely event neither work - pressure will be applied to find a compromise.
Repeat elections are not likely to work out well for the opposition. This result really was the best they are capable of doing - and it does not look nearly good enough. And does Israel really want to be having another election with Hezbollah, Iran and Hamas still unfinished. It really needs stable goverment - and one that can handle pressure from Europe.
I am not going to guess what happens next - and I am here to explain based on the evidence- not to give personal opinion.
First - wait for the final score - EVERY SINGLE SEAT MATTERS.
Israeli Exit Polls show Netanyahu's been defeated.
Israel has rejected his dark vision, forever war & cruel, dystopic, authoritarian policies.
But to succeed, the anti Netanyahu block needs to work with the Israeli Arab parties.
I dearly hope this great chance isn't wasted
@AngelaRayner@antisempolicy Sorry Angela, you are wrong.
You have allowed antisemitic hatred to become normalised in our society - and have even gone as far as letting it drive government policy.
Occasional conferences will do nothing to change the sad reality for British Jews.

Jewish life is British life, and we must never allow antisemitic hatred to become normalised in our society.
At yesterdayโs antisemitism conference with @antisempolicy my message was clear: tackling antisemitism is a responsibility for all of us, and Jewish communities will not be left to carry that burden alone.

Your ideology is skewing your responses.
You have more of a problem with channel 14 overshooting by 10-15% than you do with 11,12,13 understating by 30%.
3 channels - the mainstream ones - all consistently suggesting that the Likud would get 19-20 - and you do not even think it is worthy of an investigation.
Well you do you...
I prefer to think everything should have checks and balances. Especially when it comes to protecting democracy.
Have a nice day.
Of course they can - everyone can. Ra'am have been in a coaltion before. The issue is ideological compatability. Inside the HQ of one of the Arab parties (they ran as a united bloc) one basically said last night that this victory was for the resistance.
If the US had coaltion politics and one of the parties in 2003 had said that 9/11 was a good thing - do you think it would have been possible to build a coalition with them - or would the majority of the public not accept it.
The majority of the Israeli public feels a certain way, and they want a government to represent them. This is democracy and how it should be.
Focusing on those sitting at the edges away from mainstream thought is not how democracy functions.
If the Arab parties ideologically stood with Israel geopolitically - and were only focused on their constituents - I do not think there would be a problem at all.
So it is wrong to blame this on their identity. There are plenty of non Jews who vote for Zionist parties.
@IvanSaidenberg@kann_news@N12News Again
Are you suggesting that 12, 11 and 13 are as ideologically skewed against Netanyahu - as Channel 14 are in his favour?
I have no problem with truth wherever it falls. It seems you do and I am trying to understand your point.
Ivan. As I said - the anti-Netanyahu situation is so strong it warps conversations. Why are you so fixated on 14? I focused on the long-standing "mainstream" group. Are you suggesting 11 and 14 are comparable?
Secondly. 12, 11 and 13 said the likud would get 19 or 20. Channel 14 said they would get 30.
Who was closer?
Does it not bother you that they all understated the Likud vote by 30%?
As I pointed out only I24 got it right.
And no - I said they could have built a minority rule government - that does not mean that Ra'am would have been exlcuded. They have sat in a coalition before. I refered to the total dependency on the Arab votes would be unnacceptable to the electorate given the low numbers of the change bloc.
From my understanding, Channel 14's 10pm numbers was not an exit poll, but based on other polls - so I excluded them.
As it stands, channel 14's near constant estimate of 30 was far closer than any of the mainstream channels guess of just 20ish for Likud.
Secondly I did not remove the Arab vote at all. Try comprehension lessons.
Dear @BBCNews watching your Israel election coverage last night was just embarrasing.
You bring in non-experts that hate Netanyahu, talk about how badly he is doing, and even refuse to change tone, when reality hits. The end result is fake news.
Next time - try @AmitSegal
@declassifiedUK Hey Declassified - Is that Martin Williams with the mic? Do your journos normally not even conduct basic research? The Arab parties have not been banned. Being a useless, idiotic, amateurish hack as well as an antisemite - is no way to go through life..
