Every week at MNPR Magazine we get emails and press releases for bands with no website, just socials or a Linktree.
Social media isn’t a home. Facebook is testing a cap of two link posts a month for unverified pages, and if a platform changes the rules or disappears, your audience goes with it.
Press, promoters and fans still head to a website first for contact info. Hunting through socials for a booking or PR contact is a real pain, and it’s often out of date.
So @mnprpublicity now builds websites for bands and artists. They’re clean, professional sites built for what press, promoters and fans need. Each comes with an Artist Portal, so you can update gigs, releases and news from your phone on the road, with no tech skills needed.

Chris Connelly has released Doo Wop In The Dark: A Portrait of Lou Reed, a 21-track album that mixes Lou Reed songs with his own originals tracing Reed’s life from his teenage years to his death in 2013.
The focus track, Bye Bye Johnny Viola, looks back at John Cale’s departure from The Velvet Underground in 1968, set against Andy Warhol’s shooting and the release of White Light/White Heat.

The album follows Connelly’s 2022 Nico tribute, Eulogy to Christa, and comes with sleeve notes by Lou Reed biographer Aidan Levy.

Liverpool post-punk band The Room have shared Magic Games, a nostalgic new single from their album Doom Pop!, out now via 9x9 Records.
The song recalls a childhood afternoon in a 1960s parlour, with toy knights, Ghost Riders in the Sky on the radio and a sleeping grandad. Underneath, it looks at a world clouded by false narratives and information overload.

Formed in 1979 and favourites of John Peel, The Room reformed in 2022. They play Preston and London in November.

Absolutely spot on. The amount of press releases we delete purely because they are badly formatted, don't include press assets, have broken links, or are short, uninformative AI generated pitches beggars beleif!
A quick tip for artists sending cold press pitches to publications: you need a proper press release, not an AI-generated pitch loaded with emojis.
In your press release, include links to your music and assets. Don’t attach MP3s or high-res images to the email.
“Here’s my track, I hope you like it, please follow us” under a subject line of “Please read this” simply isn’t good enough. It’s a surefire way to get your email deleted.
If you want proper press representation, let @mnprpublicity handle it. We’ve spent 10 years deleting bad press releases, so we certainly won’t be writing you one.

Judas Priest founding bassist Ian Hill is retiring from the band after 57 years, with Davey Rimmer of Uriah Heep and Elegant Weapons taking over on bass.
In a personal message, Ian revealed he has been battling advanced arthritis in his shoulders, hands and knees. A snapped tendon at the band’s recent Brussels show meant Davey had to step in for the London date at short notice.
“The obvious choice for my replacement is Davey. He’s a great bassist, and a genuinely nice bloke who’ll fit the job perfectly,” Ian said.

Los Angeles rock band Sons Of Silver have released their new single and video, “Fever Run”, the third track from their forthcoming second album.
Singer Peter Argyropoulos calls it “probably our most ambitious rocker to date”. The song’s breakdown started life as a third verse, until a chance listen to Billy Idol’s “Rebel Yell” sent it in a new direction.
Check it out - https://t.co/st7jFcNFoF
The band features members of Candlebox and Skillet, and follows up their 2025 debut album Runaway Emotions and the singles “Dreaming Dangerous” and “Fire Between Us”.

@hurricanenita Men shouldn't be arseholes and tell women what to do!
Theres a lovely irony about him saying that you being a rockster with Alice Cooper is "creepy". He does know who Alice Cooper is, right?
