Zone drops SUCK in Madden 27, here’s why:

Stock zones allow for thirds, clouds, hooks, and purples to ‘chuck’ certain receivers if they come in their zone. This disrupts the timing of the route, and obviously messes up the opponents reads.

It also makes them “look for work” more. Basically saying that stock zones play stickier, so you should avoid ever playing with zone drops on.

Turning on ANY zone drop allows an invisible “Match” setting to be turned off. Back in the day we used to have a match setting; we don’t anymore, and turning on zone/off drops is the new determining factor on whether your zones match or not.

Timing is EVERYTHING on Offense. You will never get a stop in this game if every route combo they’re used to calling has the same timing and read progression on every play. They can just spam their favorite combos and tear your defense up, no matter what coverage you play.
