The interior of your car heats up very quickly! Never leave a child unattended in the car, even with the air on or windows open.
Always check the backseat and lock your car to avoid unattended access to cars in the driveway.

SAFETY REMINDER
Recent rains have caused river and stream levels to rise across West Michigan. High water can create stronger currents, submerged hazards, and rapidly changing conditions that can quickly become dangerous, even for experienced paddlers and swimmers.
If you're planning to spend time on the water:
• Always wear a properly fitted life jacket.
• Stay with others in your group and avoid recreating alone.
• Have a pre-planned route and exit strategy.
• Let someone know where you are going and when you expect to return.
• Be aware of changing weather and water conditions.
• Never mix alcohol or drugs with water recreation.
The water is often more powerful and less forgiving than it appears. Taking a few simple precautions can make all the difference in ensuring a safe day on the water.
Enjoy Michigan's waterways, but make safety your first priority.
What is a pedestrian? Anyone on foot, skis, skates, or rollerblades; in a wheelchair; riding a horse; or using a horse and buggy. As warmer weather continues across the state this week there will be more people out enjoying the outdoors, so please keep an eye out for all pedestrians. To learn more, visit https://t.co/ZBkyZWDiNI
CORRECTION / UPDATE:

Here’s to another year of the Michigan State Police participating in the Race 2 Rescue 5K Color Run at Stony Creek Metropark in Macomb County.
Before the race began, Captain Neil Donahue addressed participants, emphasizing that one of the most powerful ways our communities can combat human trafficking is through relentless advocacy and compassion for victims. After his remarks, Captain Donahue joined runners and participated in the race himself.
Also representing MSP at the event were Trooper Pearse and Trooper Pruchnic. We are proud to support events that raise awareness, educate the public, and help protect vulnerable children.
