The hateful graffiti targeting a mosque construction site on Long Island is reprehensible. No Muslim New Yorker should face hatred or intimidation for practicing their faith.

Religious freedom is not divisible. A society that tolerates the intimidation of one faith community weakens the liberty and security of every faith community. Antisemitism, Islamophobia, and all forms of religious hatred must be confronted with equal clarity and resolve.

We stand unequivocally with our Muslim neighbors. Hate against one faith community must concern us all.

The Islamophobia we witnessed in connection to two young women in Queens last week is abhorrent and completely unacceptable.

The @NYCCouncil stands in solidarity with our Muslim community and will continue to defend our neighbors. As the City's hate crime unit investigates this incident, we encourage community members to call 800-577-TIPS with any tips.

I am absolutely sickened and furious by what appears to be an antisemitic stabbing on the Upper West Side.

While we await additional details to be confirmed, we know that what is happening in our city is abhorrent. The fear in the Jewish community is real. Every New Yorker deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood, regardless of their faith or identity.

We must remain united in condemning antisemitism and ensuring those responsible are held fully accountable. I thank the NYPD for its swift response in apprehending the assailant.

Watch this video. When asked by @elvacilon979NY about her past comments describing the Dominican flag as "violent excrement," she walked away instead of answering the question. Voters deserve a response. If a candidate makes controversial statements about Dominican sovereignty and its people, Israel, Jews, veterans, Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, Black and Arab men, disparages white women, and more, they should be prepared to explain and defend those views publicly. What is frustrating is the double standard. Allegations against @EspaillatNY are often repeated as fact, while serious questions about this candidate's own statements are frequently brushed aside. Voters deserve consistency, accountability, and fairness. Period.
