Before todays heavy rains arrive, figured I'd swing by & cleanup this roadside drainage ditch that's part of Clearwater's Stevenson Creek watershed. This storm drain was looking awfully guilty🤨. Removing this litter before the rain is a proactive step to help protect the creek.

Work is underway! As of Jan. 21, crews set traffic control, began roadway demolition near the manhole, started material removal, and are finishing the bypass install.

The Clearwater Community Redevelopment Agency will hold their monthly Community Outreach Meeting from 3 to 4 p.m. Jan. 27, at the Main Library Council Chambers.

Updates will include downtown Clearwater construction activity, including the Osceola Parking Garage and surrounding public improvements. Additional updates will include Downtown Development Board initiatives, downtown Clearwater and North Greenwood grant programs, and upcoming events.

Today's birthday bash event for Mama Duck at Coachman Park was a success! Thank you to everyone who attended.

The winds are expected to pick up around 10 p.m. 1/17, so Mama Duck will be taken down 1/17 and possibly 1/18, due to the rain and wind. Timmy will be at @CMAquarium 1/17 for the evening's drone show and 1/18 all day.

We are expecting both Mama Duck and Timmy to be up in Coachman Park 1/19, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

On Jan. 31 at 10:30 a.m., East Community Library's Early Childhood Fair is bringing the family fun, helpful resources and a toy exchange!

Community partners who work with infants, toddlers and their parents will share programs and tips to give children the best start. There will also be a toy swap, to exchange gently used toys here at the library.
