Honest question, was there ever an installation of a GG during a separation referendum in the Leader of Her/His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition’s home province? One might suggest it best he spends his time supporting a united Canada over attending a largely symbolic ceremony.
@DimitrisSoudas Good, be you! I still do appreciate you. And yes, my health is finally stable and I am working again. Thank you for the wishes. I hope you are, too.
Not going to waste time on you all night Dimitri. My original question posed was “Honest question, was there ever an installation of a GG during a separation referendum in the Leader of Her/His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition’s home province?” You came back to me with Bouchard. Good, but Leblanc was installed in Feb 1995 and it was October when the referendum took place. As for 1980, Clark was not from Quebec and there was no GG installation that year.
@DimitrisSoudas Where are you going with this? And is it necessary? My parents friend just left Rideau Hall after his wife completed her duty as GG and I don’t think my Mom would be poking Pierre over not being at the installation.
We will be waiting to hear what charges are laid and whether this is just another case of catch and release of those supporting international terrorism.
Coincidence Department: I spoke at Beth Tzedec at 10. @PierrePoilievre was to speak there at 2.
I said he has been the best leader on supporting Israel and opposing antisemitism, hands down.
I said Carney has been awful on both.

Amazing, I hope we relive the moment of the McDonald’s CEO who ate his own hamburger! Imagine the Tim Horton’s CEO taking a sip of a double double then spitting it back into his cup. What a time to be alive. Delish.
BREAKING: President of Tim Hortons will be joining The Food Professor Podcast this week!
We’ll discuss Tim Hortons’ new growth strategy, store expansion plans, Canadian employees, and whether Dunkin’s return to Canada represents a real threat—or not.
Going live this Thursday!
Dumb argument. Stop being a myopic partisan.
I’m old enough to remember Chrétien enlisting Charest and every other Canadian to support Canada…my late Dad was on a chartered flight of Nova Scotians, I made calls from my St FX house, all of us asking Quebec to remain. We should ALL be doing the same for Alberta’s place in confederation.
And someone should pull a @Sheila_Copps and get those Canadian flags across Alberta and the rest of Canada into Canadians’ hands/ flag polls and windows.
I think it’s great Pierre Poilievre is going to campaign for unity. That’s genuinely good for Canada and all parties should be present this summer to make that case.
But this argument runs the risk validating separatists and those who think it’s a cost free exercise of leverage.
@DimitrisSoudas I have lost patience with people thinking they can be the arbiter of Canadian conservatism. There is only one former Tory staffer that is undermining Pierre right now and we all know who he is. Everyone should stop scapegoating you, Fred and others.
We give the @TorontoPolice a solid 8.7/10 for today’s performance at the Walk With Israel.
They started off strong & set the stage for what was accepted.
There was some confusion when the Pro-Palis scrambled to a nearby park, but they cleared them out once backup arrived.
The general consensus from attendees was that they had great time, felt safe, and felt zero to none presence of the Jihadis.
There were finally arrests for speech calling for death that wasn’t done before.
Given that no new legislation has passed that we are aware of, what changed?
🤔
Dan, as I said to @laurakurkimaki today, we don’t have skin in the game…we have SCARS in the game, fighting it out on the streets, rallies and air wars for the party to get ballots in boxes. I am always mystified by those who think making a political party smaller will be a winning strategy.
It's never been more frightening for Jews to get together in public than it is right now. But today in Toronto is the year's biggest public event for Jewish families.
They're showing up despite these malicious people who come to menace children.
