NYC content creators — this is for you!
We’re launching "Created in NY," a new MOME program spotlighting NYC’s next generation of filmmakers and storytellers. We’re working with ALZA Festival to highlight vertical series and microdramas created by New Yorkers.
Submit your vertical series now at https://t.co/wz5Tgd7S8O
Selected submissions will be featured at the festival this October and considered for a #MadeinNY Award.
This initiative is about opening doors for emerging storytellers, developing new talent, and making sure New York remains the best place in the world to build a creative career.
📢 Attention, moviegoers!
Theaters in NYC must show some of their movies with open captions. Open captions are the on-screen display of a movie’s dialogue, speakers’ names & sounds. @NYCDisabilities@helloDCWP 📽️

Chinatown was built by immigrant, working class New Yorkers. And we're continuing to tell their story with the premiere of two new episodes of "History of NYC's Chinatown" this coming Wednesday and Thursday.
In these new episodes, you will witness the expansion of Chinatown's community and identify after the 1965 immigration act passed; and will learn about photographer Corky Lee, who spent his life documenting the lives of fellow Chinese New Yorkers including the social injustices and inequalities they faced.
Episode 3: The Shape of Belonging: Premieres July 29
Episode 4: Corky Lee's Photographic Revolution: Premieres July 30
We're also airing an encore of the first two episodes of the series on Monday and Tuesday:
Episode 1: The Toishanese Migration: airing July 27
Episode 2: A Community Takes Root: airing July 28
All episodes air 7:30pm on #NYCLife, Channel 25.

The MOME team went out to find six iconic movies and TV shows that were #MadeinNY, proving that there’s nowhere quite like NYC to film. 🎬🗽
When we film here, we're supporting all those working behind the scenes: the crew members, craftspeople, caterers and drivers whose livelihoods depend on this industry.
If you have a story to tell, #MakeItInNY.
Featuring Natasha Lyonne's Russian Doll, Amy Schumer's Trainwreck, Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing, Celine Song’s Past Lives, John Krasinski’s Jack Ryan, and Darren Aronofsky’s Requiem for a Dream.
