Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that growing India–US ties are “not a problem” for Russia–India relations, emphasizing that external pressure will not impact bilateral cooperation.

Speaking on evolving geopolitics, Putin noted that it is natural for India to develop ties with countries aligned with its interests. He also remarked that attempts by the United States to pressure India, particularly regarding its cooperation with Russia, are ultimately counterproductive and do not affect the strength of bilateral relations.

He further stressed that such external pressure on Prime Minister Narendra Modi is detrimental to international relations, adding that Russia sees no negative consequences in the evolving global alignments.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered India a renewed proposal to jointly develop and produce the Su-57 fifth-generation stealth fighter jet, signaling a potential major boost in defence cooperation between Russia and India.

Speaking to global media, Putin said Moscow is ready to share critical technologies and work with India on co-production of the advanced Su-57 aircraft, which is designed for stealth, multi-role combat, and modern aerial warfare capabilities. He added that there are “no limits” to defence cooperation between the two countries.

The offer comes as India weighs options for fifth-generation fighter jets, while its indigenous AMCA program is still years away from deployment amid rising global air force modernisation.

India had exited the FGFA project in 2018 over concerns related to stealth capability and technology transfer, but the new proposal has revived discussion on a possible renewed partnership.
