On behalf of the government, I extend my sincere condolences to the families of the eight foreign nationals who lost their lives in the accident on the M1 motorway early this morning.
I wish those who were injured a full and speedy recovery.
Actions speak louder than words.
We have launched an immediate 3.6 billion forint programme to repair and upgrade hospital air conditioning and cooling systems. Several dozen hospitals and outpatient clinics will have their cooling systems upgraded.
Transparency, competence, humanity.
We are working step by step to address years of neglect by the Orbán government.
So what do MPs of the former ruling party do instead?
They continue to fight imaginary enemies of their own making and offer hypocritical lectures on how people should live.
And of course, they mislead their own voters as well.
They still do not understand what has happened and remain in denial.
Meanwhile, they fail to recognise that in just two months since their historic defeat on 12 April, they have lost another million supporters.
Nothing new under the sun.
Fidesz has just announced that it does not support the anti-corruption measures that would unlock billions of euros in EU funding for Hungary.
They do not care about the state of healthcare, the collapsing rail network, the poor condition of the roads, or the difficulties faced by Hungarian businesses and workers.
@PM_ViktorOrban's crumbling party does not support allowing the European Public Prosecutor’s Office to investigate, going back to 2021, how many billions of euros in EU funds belonging to the Hungarian people have been stolen.
Fidesz also does not support legislation restricting labour migration from third countries. Instead, it sides with multinational corporations that exploit workers.
Orbán and his party also oppose making the intentional falsification of asset declarations a criminal offence punishable by imprisonment.
.@DrTamasSulyok has never once stood up for abused children, for those persecuted by the Orbán regime, or for the rule of law — yet he spends his time complaining abroad about his own position.
Under the legislative proposal submitted yesterday, politicians who intentionally provide false information in their asset declarations will face imprisonment.
I wonder whether the Fidesz MPs will vote for the anti-corruption legislation package submitted yesterday that would unlock many thousands of billions of forints in EU funding for Hungary.
1/2 A few minutes ago, we submitted a historically significant legislative package to Parliament.
The Hungarian people and businesses can finally gain access to the EU funds to which they are entitled.
In order to achieve this, we only need to do what the Hungarian people expect of us: put an end to Orbán-era corruption.
2/2 For years, we heard from the ousted government that the European Union was withholding these funds for political reasons.
For years, we were told that the dispute was about illegal migration, about Ukraine, and about various ideological issues.
Meanwhile, the relevant documents have been publicly available for everyone to see. They clearly state what the European Union expects from Hungary: strict anti-corruption measures, more transparent government, stronger safeguards, and autonomous universities.
We have taken the necessary decisions accordingly.

Ma a Parlament felfüggeszti a devizahiteles ügyek végrehajtását. Jelentősen csökkentjük a képviselői fizetést és költségkeretet. 13 órától ismét élőben szólok a képviselőkhöz.
We promised to unite the nation, and we are on the right track.
Today, Fidesz’s hate campaign was only able to mobilise around 400 people.
Millions of Hungarians support political change, while only 400 people gathered in support of the mafia’s puppets.
Mr President @DrTamasSulyok,
You know as well as I do that it is over. It is still not too late to step down.
Perhaps you remember the last time we demonstrated outside your residence, in December, over the abandonment and suffering of thousands of children in state care.
On that cold day, hundreds of thousands of Hungarians stood with us, demanding that you protect those children and apologise to the victims.
I have already done so on behalf of the Hungarian government. You have remained silent on this matter.
Do you choose to remain in office at the expense of national unity?
Pedagógusnap alkalmából szeretettel és tisztelettel köszöntök mindenkit, aki a gyermekeinkért és a jövő generációjáért dolgozik. Köszönjünk, köszönjük, köszönjük!
