The longer I think about it the more annoyed I get to be honest. And not at gooseworx or anything, but at all the people who kind of refuse to see the very obvious implications about Jax.
We've got:
- jax feeling comfortable with the maid outfit to the point where one of the one in their head wears it "as a bit, to show he doesn't really care or as a joke", something that very often happens with trans women who either deny or don't realize their transness yet (which often leads to the femboy phase).
- projects the "gayness" on other people who question him (calling another version of him a f***t).
- the trans writer using the "i'm just an egg that needs to be cracked" metaphor, which she could very well replace with any other metaphor to avoid confusion.
- speaking of eggs, the "egg with question marks" painting in the credits sequence
- something "deep and personal" that jax told his mother, which she laughed off and berated him for.
- right after that we get the bow on head which makes him blush, with ribbit saying "your secret is safe with me".
- the entire section where the song "Isn't she lovely" when a montage of different scenes with Jax plays.
This last one in particular annoys me so much because what do people even think - that it's referring to Pomni? Someone else? That it's played for no reason?
It's just so in your face I REALLY feel like people who refuse to see it have to be either very disconnected from the transgender experience (but in that case I would urge you to try to learn about it and keep an open mind about this stuff ❤️) or just transphobic.

"I want to kill that guy"
meanwhile keeps the version of himself closest to that guy on a chain and hides it from everyone
i wish jax could just... live their life, explore their identity, play the fucking piano
it's just not fair, man...
I understand why it wasn't outright stated that jax is transfem or genderfluid or whatever. I get that they never got to figure it out fully and were in kinda in denial about it or trying to hide it...
But to some extent i do wish it was outright stated. Mostly because the amount of people who keep denying the existence of this entire (very important) narrative is just straight up annoying.
