Kimkim Khongsai,a young badminton star who was displaced from Imphal during the Manipur conflict, has once again brought pride to the state by winning the U-15 Singles and Mixed Doubles titles at the Yonex-Sunrise All India Sub Junior National Ranking Tournament 2026.
Kimkim’s journey reflects extraordinary resilience, determination, and talent in the face of adversity. She clinched the Under-15 Girls’ Singles title and further showcased her versatility by partnering with Liansangpuia of Mizoram to secure the Mixed Doubles gold medal.
Kimkim Khongsai has been achieving notable success for several years:

In 2024,she reached the Girls’ Doubles final at the Yonex-Sunrise All India Sub-Junior (U-13) Ranking Tournament in Dibrugarh.
In 2025,she won a silver medal in Girls’ U-19 Singles and bronze medals in Girls’ U-19 Doubles and Mixed Doubles at the Yonex-Sunrise North East Zone Inter-State and Zonal Badminton Championship in Tripura. She was also named “Most Amazing Player of the Tournament.”

From being hailed as the “Saina Nehwal of Kangpokpi” at a young age to winning medals at regional and national-ranking tournaments, the young shuttler has steadily established herself as one of the Northeast’s most promising badminton talents.
Anyone .. and especially a Muslim .. who becomes influential, rises to a position of leadership, and starts exposing them will be targeted. The government will leave no stone unturned to bring them down.
More power to Khan Sir. Praying for his safety.
"Manipur needs truth and accountability, not propaganda." 🚨 Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has released an official statement strongly condemning irresponsible reporting by Northeast Live regarding the tragic killing of Mr. Chunjanglung Panmei. KIM notes that the incident occurred in Pongringlon—an area with no Kuki settlement—and warns that unsubstantiated "ethnic labelling" only deepens divisions in the region.

Sure, if Mr. Singh can ensure that there will not be another Loibol Khullen, people will gladly lay down their arms. But if Manipur continues to be a failed state, you can't blame the people for defending themselves!
CRPF DG GP Singh asks troops in Manipur to “neutralise” miscreants roaming around in civilian areas with weapons. “Neutralise,You have my back”
After Naxalism,it is Manipur’s turn. Decision taken at highest level, issue to be resolved in the next 1-1.5 years.
Security agencies have consistently flagged the availability of a large number of weapons with civilians as a major security challenge. I ✍️

They were Manipur state lands, my dear, which had a proper functioning government, overseen by a British Resident. They made sure that the Kukis would only settle in unoccupied lands.
This map shows a section of the present-day Kamjong district in a 1944 survey map. You notice Kuki and Tangkhul areas alternating. Kamjong was not a village then, just a rest house. But Chassad was a village, a Kuki village. So were Humine and Molvailup. All these villages with the exception of Chassad have been evicted by the Nagas after the Indian independence.
I recently learnt that Grihang was also a Kuki village. It apparently got evicted in the 1960s. Then MLA (now CM) Khemchand Singh went to visit it in December last year, to greet the GPRN's[*] governor of the Tangkhul region. He also stopped in Litan and Chassad along the way. Evidently GPRN's blessings were necessary for his bid to become the CM.
To the south of there, you see the village of Choro, which was also a Kuki village. Called Choro Khullen in 1991, it had a population of 221 in the census. It got evicted during that decade. The Tangkhuls took it over and renamed it Zingshophai Choro. (I don't know what the point is. Zingshophai is as much a Kuki name as Choro is.)
Not being satisfied with the hilltop location there, they moved the village wholesale to the Burmese side of the border, claiming that that land was their "ancestral land". KNA-Burma apparently burned a part of the village recently. Then they complained that KNA-B carried out a "cross-border attack". KNA-B denied that they crossed the border. They really didn't. You did, dear Tangkhuls!
Dr. Lorho S. Pfoze, the former Naga MP, says in an interview to the Hindustan Times, that the Kukis "attack vulnerable areas" and "expand their territories". So, all these Kukis, who have been driven out of the Ukhrul district and reduced to 5% of the population, are going to attack the remaining 90% Nagas? Whom are you kidding, Dr. Lorho?
[*] GPRN stands for the Government of the People's Republic of Nagalim. It is a parellel government that the Nagas run within their inhabited areas. Yes, it is against the Indian constitution. But this is Manipur!
#Women in Manipur have been suffering. 248 crimes against women only in 2022 and the conflict in 2023 had increased this alot especially for #Kuki women
Described by the Supreme Court as “systemic and unprecedented.” the conflict of #Manipur has been neglected by authorities.
📹 Video from Ukhrul, a Tangkhul-dominated area, claims Kukis are being deleted from the SIR list without any due process 📷
All BLOs are Tangkhuls.
Kukis make up less than 7% of the combined population of Ukhrul & Kamjong districts 📊
If anyone were to manipulate the SIR process, the Tangkhuls are clearly well positioned — they control all BLOs and the district headquarters 🏛️

@Khulkonns_3382 Once again, these were the villages uprooted in the 1960s. Six times as many, 360 villages, were further uprooted in the 1990s. Their list won't fit on your graphic!
The Saikot MLA said that the claim about a disproportionate increase in the number of villages in Kangpokpi and Churachandpur, often raised by former Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, is a narrative built with ill intent.

A rare sensible statement by Naga on the Naga–Kuki clashes.
Communities continue to suffer while ego-driven narratives, CSOs, and militant groups keep fueling and profiting from the conflict.

Anurabh Saikia, quoting a Naga leader, wrote for @scroll_in in September 2023:
“It is an open secret that some Naga groups, such as the MNRF, are funded, mentored, armed, and groomed by Meitei underground groups,” he said. “That is because they need forests to hide and operate from, and there are none in the valley.”
So, the Manipur Nagas do admit that they are working with the Meiteis and against the Kukis. They have never been neutral.
