#historicon2026 came alive as Charlie Fastoso & Marks Games Room delivered a tense 2v2 showdown based on Avalon Hill’s 1954 Gettysburg. Strategy and timing ruled the gorgeous 6mm battlefield, where every move hit with classic old‑school wargaming intensity.
The Wylie boys were kind enough a year ago to give me a copy of their Gettysburg game and I liked the system. I just bought another in the series Wilderness. My Rebel Fury Wilderness scenario is 2 brigades/ hex and this one is 1 brigade/hex. In both cases no stacking. 👍
Scale, 1 brigade per hex you are looking at the battle as a Corps/Division commander at the tactical level where artillery range is a decision. At the 2 brigade scale you are at the grand tactical level with broader map space which is about maneuver combinations prior to and during a battle. Here you are the army commander where risk enters the decision space.
