@Honesty4OhioEd Story is unclear. What happens if a student tries to transfer at the downtown hub? Is there something special and visible about the pass? How does the state leg even dictate a bus transfer policy?
Help me understand what exactly is being reported on.
@humantransit A couple times I've seen the tracking system rewrite history. You check on Monday and the package is in Denver. You check on Tuesday and the package was NEVER ANYWHERE NEAR Denver.
@multimodalLA And there is *so much headroom* on ridership.
The environmental (and other) gains from simply *replacing more car trips* are so much bigger than the (totally valid and real) negatives of diesel fuel.
@ClevelandScene On what basis do you claim that the Browns organization would be doing the renovating? It's not like they're paying for it.
Also, they always switch the conversation to aesthetics when the fiscal case for subsidies inevitably falls flat.
Vince, this is bad reporting.
@Roxanneaff@multimodalLA@ChachaMarquis@humantransit n = 1 but Cleveland RTA hasn't exhibited competence with *much* less challenging problems.
Also: Seems like *replacing car trips* is the highest-leverage environmental strategy in most places outside the cities that are already transit-rich.
@Roxanneaff@humantransit I'm just a regular transit user, but... no. Shift changes tend to be at the end of a route, and the end of a route is rarely where you'd have a charging facility.
@meatballtimes I apply Adelberg's Razor at work *all the time.* And stuff I learned in my 50% Economics program. Abstract Algebra came up recently, which was fun.
Sure, I could have chosen not to learn these things. That would have been my fault, not the college's.
@meatballtimes Disputing #3: If you want to avoid learning in college, and then go on to live an ignorant life, it's always been possible and it's always been done.
Not sure that's college's fault though.
@BrennanforOhio Also it needs to be said: If a thing *does* "generate" some amount of tax revenue, *that is the public's money.* It does not belong to the landlord or the developer or the team.
