(1/5) This has been a difficult time for our nation and our community. I am saddened by the recent events, which weigh heavily on all of us. It is heartbreaking. Racial bias of any kind is unacceptable, and we must take steps to eradicate it from our communities.
While traveling abroad, Portlander Steve Caldwell tasted a Swiss rösti for the first time and immediately fell in love. A chef in his own right, Steve created his own crispy potato pockets bursting with warm delicious flavors.
Before he immigrated to the United States, Sukhdev Singh had never tasted salsa. Today, he’s the owner and operator of Beaverton-based Khalsa Salsa. But his are not your run-of-the-mill salsas. Rather, they reflect the flavors of India and are unlike anything you’ve ever tasted.

(1/3) While we continue to listen, learn and look at making changes to support our Black Community, we are restarting our social channels in an effort to support our local makers across Oregon.
(2/3) When you buy local, you’re helping to sustain Oregon businesses, their families and our state’s economy. It’s a full-circle philosophy that translates into healthier communities.
(5/5) These steps will be in response to this historic movement, so we want to be intentional with our choices.
There is an urgency across the nation to do more. Our country can do better. Our state can do better. We will do better.
Sincerely,
Rick Wright, CEO
