If you’re building a Data Center, you need to look at Neural I/o.
$ORCL $GOOGL $AAPL $NVDA $CRWV $AMZN $MRVL $MSFT $META
The AI landscape is going to change. The winners will be the ones not building the GPUs or CPUs but the picks and shovels that connect it all. MicroLED interconnects and switches. $MRVL but also the smaller back-door players like $FABC and $KOPN.
Companies like a $CRDO will be among the losers as they are stuck using copper and have not been able to develop a MicroLED (unlike the FABC/KOPN combo).
. $MRVL is demonstrating that the real bottleneck for AI is GPU to GPU communication speeds. They are going to use MicroLEDs in their 160+ Tb/s switch.
$FABC, at 1/1000 the value of MRVL, will be building MicroLED inteconnects (for GPU to GPU communications) with THE state of the art technology, using $KOPN. $FABC will jointly own the IP and be exclusively selling it into AI. This announcement by $MRVL today (and the endorsement by $NVDA) shows that $FABC will have a seat at the table with their IP and tech. This is the biggest bottleneck in AI now.
$FABC has engaged @EgonZehnder to lead the search for a senior project management executive. This leadership search marks the latest step in a rapid scale-up of $FABC’s Neural I/o™ platform and broader AI infrastructure roadmap.

No worries. There's a $100B market for optical-based interconnects. With $FABC MicroLED technology there is actually zero competition and potentially 100x the speed of $CRDO with a $20 Billion market cap. That's a 1000x potential on $FABC. They've stumbled into this relationship with $KOPN and it will work out for them.
. $FABC going to show the first microLED interconnec before year end. $100 billion industry within the AI datacenter. FABC has just a $20 million market cap.
Kopin Q1 2026 marks a major growth inflection: $15M https://t.co/qRnKjYJVGz deal, $21.5M defense contract, $3.2M FPV entry, MicroLED + SBIR progress, and expanded U.S. OLED manufacturing.

This is why I am excited about $FABC. $KOPN CEO just stated on his earnings call this morning that the AI part of his business will be bigger than his entire defense business. $FABC is 100% that side of KOPN's business. The interconnect business is a $100B industry , its the critical part of connectivity in an AI data center. $FABC is making the start of the art technology through KOPN.
The speed of an AI data center is the speed of the GPU + the speed of the CPU + the speed of the interconnect.
"Huang's Law", named after Jensen Huang from $NVDA states that the speed of AI compute (determined by the above formula) is going to double every two years.
This is an evolution from Moore's Law. Gordon Moore, former CEO of $INTC, in 1965, said that CPUs will double in speed every 18 months, But this law has run out after working for 60 years. Its not just CPUs now, but GPUs and interconnects.
Which is why NVDA is investing billions in optics, away from $CRDO's ($22 billion market cap) copper-based interconnects. $FABC ($30 million market cap) will have the only viable MicroLED interconnect on the market. That's the arbitrage.
$KOPN Kopin Corp: The American Bastion of InP in the Age of War and Silicon
In a world dominated by giants producing billions of consumer processors, a quiet, strategic player from Massachusetts is becoming the "bottleneck" for the two most critical trends of the decade: the digitization of the battlefield and the optical AI revolution.
Kopin Corporation (KOPN) is no startup. It is a forty-year history of engineering perseverance that has finally reached its "inflection point" in 2026.
1⃣The Technological "Moat": Why Kopin is Irreplaceable
Most semiconductor companies in the U.S. are fabless - they design, but they outsource production to Asia.
Kopin is different. It owns its own MOCVD (Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition) reactors in Westborough.
This is where structures based on Indium Phosphide (InP) are "grown."
Why does this matter?
➡️Silicon has limits:
Traditional silicon is great at computing but terrible at handling light.
➡️InP is the future:
Indium Phosphide allows for the integration of electronics and photonics on a single chip.
Thanks to this, Kopin produces micro-displays with brightness that allows F-35 pilots to see targets in full sunlight, and emitters that transmit data at the speed of light.
2⃣2026 Fundamentals: The Pentagon as a Guarantor of Survival
May 2026 brought a crucial confirmation: a $21.5 million contract for thermal imaging systems.
This is a signal to the market - Kopin has stopped being a prototyping firm and has become a production facility operating at full throttle.
Currently, the company's backlog is at its highest in history.
Thanks to its Trusted Foundry status and support from the CHIPS Act, Kopin is effectively protected by the U.S. government as a strategic asset.
In an era of geopolitical tension, the military cannot afford to let its only domestic InP supplier face liquidity issues.
3⃣ https://t.co/BNpRPW52pZ: The Speculative Call Option
While 90% of Kopin's value today lies in defense and IP, the market is excited about the remaining 10%: the collaboration with https://t.co/BNpRPW52pZ (FABC).
➡️The Deal:
Kopin has taken a 19.9% equity stake in https://t.co/BNpRPW52pZ.
➡️Neural I/O™:
This technology aims to eliminate copper cables from AI data centers, replacing them with Kopin's optics.
➡️Asymmetry:
https://t.co/BNpRPW52pZ (market cap ~$5M) is the aggressive R&D arm.
If their architecture passes tests with a hyperscaler (NDA from May 2026!), Kopin, as the exclusive manufacturer of the InP chipsets, becomes a new "NVIDIA-lite" in the network infrastructure space.
4⃣ Expert Panel Report: What to Know Before May 12th
I have gathered opinions from analysts at Lake Street and JonesTrading.
Here is their consensus for the upcoming Earnings Call:
➡️Bull Case:
Kopin confirms that gross margins on new military contracts are rising due to automation.
Management mentions progress in tests for a "major chipmaker" (referencing the https://t.co/BNpRPW52pZ NDA). The stock breaks resistance at $5.50 and targets $7.00.
➡️Bear Case:
Supply chain delays for MOCVD reactor components slow down backlog realization.
A lack of concrete AI news pushes the stock back to its base level of $4.00.
5⃣Final Verdict: Analytical Score (10/10)
Kopin Corporation in May 2026 is a rare "Value + Growth" investment opportunity.
➡️Value: Real factories, 200 patents, and guaranteed orders from the Pentagon.
➡️Growth: Exposure to the optical AI revolution through https://t.co/BNpRPW52pZ.
⬇️The Bottom Line:
If you are looking for a company that has real machines (MOCVD), a unique material (InP), and is protected by the American government, Kopin is currently unrivaled in the Small-Cap sector.
Here's the arbitrage. $CRDO with a $22B market cap. (using copper) and $FABC with a $30M market cap (after last raise) using MicroLEDs that are 10x faster and 100x more energy efficient. Nobody has figured out MicroLEDs except $KOPN (already deployed into the military). KOPN is developing the chip for $FABC.
The best piece of advice Brian ever got was from Paul Graham (@paulg):
"It's better to have a hundred people love you than a million people sort of like you."
"That came from Paul Buchheit (@paultoo). Paul was a partner at Y Combinator. He created Gmail.
The famous story was he couldn't ship it until 100 people inside of Google love it. It actually took two years to get 100 people to actually like the product.
But once a hundred people like something, a hundred million people like it.
The problem is, if you try to make something a million people like, you can't talk to a million people. It's like you're trying to heat up an ocean and you can't tell. Instead of heating up an ocean, heat up a bathtub.
Make the problem as small as possible.
Do things that don't scale, then scale. Product market fit is a distinct problem from industrialization.
Understand the user, put yourself in their shoes, blow their mind. Do things you've never thought before. Do them by hand. Make them unscalable. Don't worry how much it costs. Just prove the model."
$FABC just announced NDAs with two major chipmakers on their Neural I/o interconnect. This is a $100B industry (led by $CRDO w a $22B market cap). Interconnects are THE bottleneck in AI now and a MicroLED-based interconnect is the "holy grail". CRDO uses last-gen cooper technology while industry is going optical.
Built for the mission. Made in America.
Kopin secured a $21.5M follow-on contract for U.S.-made thermal imaging assemblies for a major defense prime.
Integrated, rugged systems enabling real-time threat detection when it matters most.
