Another successful year for the @hapiresearch lab celebrating our successes together at our traditional end of year picnic in beautiful South Bank, Brisbane 🇦🇺
New paper as part of Special Issue 'Self-Control and Self-Regulation' in Current Opinion in Psychology where @martinhagger and me summarize theory and research testing a mechanistic explanation for the trait self-control-health behavior relationship. https://t.co/ngGsq04ZDw
@martinhagger & me contend that individual-level (“i-frame”) intervention strategies can be appropriately integrated with system-level (“s-frame”) strategies to optimize population-level behavior change. https://t.co/EzQOmH6Z2F
Chater & Loewenstein argue that the most important way in which behavioral scientists can contribute to public policy is by employing their skills to develop and implement value-creating system-level change. https://t.co/ZpfOz5s9J9.
Very proud supervisor at the @Griffith_Uni graduation this evening. It has been a privilege to work with Kelly, Sam, and Allen, who have done outstanding work this year. Their projects investigated police wellbeing, & attachment and self determined solitude predicting loneliness
For those who like swearing, knock yourself out. But results here are similar (actually, lower) than results we saw in our self-talk study w/ runners, & didn't involve swearing strategies: (https://t.co/3FcCMNtmIb). Also- element of habituation (Section 4.1) likely significant.
Today I presented for probably my last time as a PhD student at the @Griffith_Uni School of Applied Psychology HDR conference. I was privileged that I got to present in this symposium on Understanding Behaviour Through Synthesising Knowledge with great friends and colleagues!
Excellent presentation by @DrKyraHamilton on Tips for Qual Research at the @Griffith_CMH Research Conference. Important topics such as avoiding positivist creep in reflexive thematic analysis, information power for sample size, and Braun & Clarke’s new values-based checklist.
Such a thrill to get an honorary degree from the university of Thessaly, Greece, alongside friend and former colleague Ken Fox. Our long standing association with Greek academics, including numerous PhDs, has been a pleasure and privilege. @unisqaus

Very happy to work with fantastic colleagues and friends @martinhagger@DrKyraHamilton@jacobjkeech on Italian adaptation of Stress Control Mindset Measure https://t.co/nfWabJoVL9
The univariate approach dominates meta-analytic structural equation modeling (#MASEM). Suzanne Jak and I showed that the standard errors and test statistics are highly biased. We also showed better methods to do it.

Amazing work is being done to develop contextually tailored messages to promote COVID-19 vaccination among Latinos in the Central Valley. I'm looking forward to seeing how this important work will shape future health interventions 👏@martinhagger@DrKyraHamilton@JessicaBallaUCM
