Let me explain this in the easiest way you can understand it.
Imagine you hired someone to count every grain of sand on a beach. They come back and tell you the number. you can either trust them โ or count it yourself. Counting it yourself takes as long as it took them. Neither option is great.
ZK proofs are a third option nobody knew existed until recently.
The person counts the sand. But instead of just handing you a number, they hand you a small mathematical certificate โ a proof. That certificate is tiny. Reading it takes seconds.
