@scm_tiger You came up in a baseball search and seem very engaged in MLB/Fantasy. Any chance I could reach out to you via DM about a fantasy league opening I have?
@rossjensen My take is few play in deep 30-team, 50 man roster dynasty lgs. So while we respect ranking your top 300 players, 95% of lgs only care about the accuracy of the top 50-100. There are industry “experts” who have BAD records on their top 50. Its a very tough job, but results matter
@RobsRips@alfrdyo09 As a 3rd party with no skin in the game, I’ll just say MLB might have the worst ranking system in the entire sport. Anything would be better than that.
@RealJRAnderson@RotoWire Why don’t you just show K’s and BB’s. The K:B ratio just looks like you’re repeating information one column over. I know this is your first draft, so not trying to be too critical.
@EricCrossMLB Eric, thinking back, not sure I saw many more of these breakdowns in this format. Did you do more and I missed them, or was it only popular with me and you abandoned it?
@Andrew_a174@Climberrr1@HellerSports Just screenshot the MLB rule from the rulebook and put your critics to bed. But I’ll save you some time: the rule doesn’t exist as you are implying.
@Kluutch@HellerSports@cottrell1111 1st and home you don’t have to stop on the base. So you can run full speed through the base, slowing down afterward. 2nd and 3rd if you come off the base you can be tagged out. Therefore you would slow down prior to arriving. Sliding allows maximum speed with stopping on the base
@bobbydigravio@illbearound2024@TalkinBaseball_ I think a throw from 2 steps behind the infield grass ends up on line 80% of the time. Maybe more w/ Edman. So your implied odds of scoring are 20% or less sending him. K-Falefa has an OBP of .297 so that’s a 30% chance of scoring w/bases loaded. So I agree those are better odds.
@Gazza1550@goose0910@CodifyBaseball@MLB Nomar Garciaparra unstrapping and restrapping each batting glove after EVERY pitch. The pitch clock is an amazing rule to get rid of unnecessary time waste.
@Blutman27 There’s a few certainties in sports officiating:
1) You have to see something happen to call it
2) Officials can’t see everything so they will miss some calls.
But calls like this are insane. That official made up something that literally never happened and said they saw it.
For anyone asking why I left C and RP out of the analysis, those positions are almost always used for themselves. A catcher who also occasionally plays 3B is rarely used as a 3B starter. So the eligibility is not that applicable. Same for RP to a relevant extent.
@YahooFantasy Here is some important data from the 2025 fantasy baseball season. This is the number of top players at each position that have singular positional eligibility on Yahoo’s platform:
Rank 1-25
1B: 12
2B: 6
3B: 8
SS: 15
OF: 21
SP: 24
Total: 86/150 - 57%
I used to be a very strong proponent of the 5/10 eligibility system on Yahoo. I’ve been a loyal Yahoo user for 20 years now. I just think it needs strong consideration to be reevaluated by @YahooFantasy at this point. Thank you for your consideration.
