2026-27 is going to be a drought year, which might extend into 2027 and 2028 because of the El Niño weather phenomenon. As a nation, we need to prepare accordingly. This means investing more in boreholes and water storage infrastructure like dams.

This drought may deflate our projected 8% growth for 2026.

It is great to see Kuda Tagwirei being appointed to the Senate to drive innovation and more business-friendly policies for the country.

My only advice to the Senator is this: you are a great businessman. You have done great things — busting sanctions, financing government when no one would, and growing the Zimbabwean economy.

My advice is that you are now a political leader of all Zimbabweans and not just the SDA, or just your circle of influence, so take care of ALL Zimbabweans. Be honourable in this position, Senator. Honour your word to all those you give your word.

Leaders must mean what they say and do what they say. That way you can raise other black millionaires with ethics, to make our country great. No nation was ever built by a few eating alone or exploiting others. All great nations advanced by advancing the majority of their people through creating more opportunities to grow bigger markets.

Guide the Senate in creating a system that rewards people on merit and fairness. Let's not create a system that uses or exploits people, because as black people we will not build a continent by enslaving our own or not rewarding those who do well for the collective, in an attempt to keep them dependent.
