Afreximbank President and Chairman, Dr @GeorgeElombi, led a Bank delegation to the New State House in Harare, where they were received by H.E. President Emmerson Mnangagwa of the Republic of Zimbabwe.

The meeting reaffirmed the enduring strength of Afreximbank’s partnership with Zimbabwe and advanced discussions on strategic areas to accelerate the country’s economic transformation. Dr Elombi reiterated the Bank’s commitment to supporting Zimbabwe through:

- private sector-led industrialisation
- development of special industrial zones for minerals and agricultural processing
- critical trade-enabling infrastructure
- strengthened regional integration, including deeper trade and logistics cooperation with Mozambique

The dialogue also explored interventions to ease congestion along the Beira Corridor, expand energy generation capacity, and boost value addition and beneficiation to retain more value within Zimbabwe’s economy.

Afreximbank continues to stand with the people of Zimbabwe as it advances its recovery, builds resilience, and charts a path toward sustainable growth.
