@PermAintDeadYet@thisappisnotok@ChristianHeiens Would you say that perhaps that is an absurd, hyperbolic conclusion for me to jump to? A ludicrous false equivalence?
We’re going in circles so I’m gonna mute and move on. Again though I appreciate your candor in this disagreement; can’t say there’s a lot if that these days.
@PermAintDeadYet@thisappisnotok@ChristianHeiens I have, and I’m well aware of the sympathizers/support that Hitler had (esp. in the lead up to Poland), as well as Post-War Paperclip shenanigans etc. But that smacks of “you know who ELSE liked to paint!?”. Again, I see what you’re saying, I just disagree with your conclusions.
@PermAintDeadYet@thisappisnotok@ChristianHeiens I see a handful of tiny similarities that you’re focusing on, in good faith I do see the analogy you’re drawing out - but I cannot agree that “Charlie Kirk is Modern-Day Goebbels” is an apt comparison. I appreciate your candor in this palaver though.
@thisappisnotok@PermAintDeadYet@ChristianHeiens Israel is absolutely committing all kinds of reckless, wanton murder and America being involved in supporting them in any capacity disgusts and infuriates me. I might bicker pedantically over the term “genocide”, but regardless it’s fucking awful and evil.
@PermAintDeadYet@thisappisnotok@ChristianHeiens I never followed him or consumed his content. I think a lot of what he said was cringe, I disagree with him on several things. I don’t care if people mock him, go for it; but genuinely comparing him to Goebbels is retarded, pant-pissing hysterics.
@PermAintDeadYet@thisappisnotok@ChristianHeiens You’re actively supporting and funding a genocide and roughly 70% of your material goods are the result of POC child slave labor, including the very device you’re using to read this.
@PermAintDeadYet@thisappisnotok@ChristianHeiens No, I’m following the path of “guilty by association” to its logical conclusion when it’s all based on “vibes” and opinions. Calling Kirk “Nazi” (worst of the worst) opens up a VERY large umbrella and “We don’t have a choice” sounds a lot like “we were just following orders”
That evening, Karmelo Anthony was doing something wrong, and he knew it but didn't care because in his community the cool kids do things that are wrong.
So when a white kid told him to leave, he couldn't just leave or else that would mean (in his mind and in the perspective of his community) he'd be obeying a white person.
Where he comes from you can't do that. You can't back down. You have to escalate and make them back down. Your reputation is actually better off with you getting arrested over being a stubborn asshole than being seen backing down to a white.
So he stubbornly resisted doing the right and reasonable thing, which in his community is an act of societal defiance which is celebrated.
Take a low IQ hoodrat, or someone who wants to be a low IQ hoodrat, and tell him to stop being everyone else's problem enough times and he's going to react violently. Who are you to tell him what to do?
It doesn't matter if he is in your tent, on your stoop, in your yard, driving the car in front of yours at the red light, walking past you at the grocery store... You are not to be obeyed, even if all you're asking for is for him to exhibit the same behavior that you would expect from literally anyone else in a functioning society.
His victim made the mistake of assuming he was dealing with a normal person. Not someone who is incapable of polite and respectful interactions. Certainly not someone who probably isn't fit to be around other people's kids. Someone who you should approach in the same way a prison psychiatrist approaches a violent inmate. Always watching the words you use and being mindful of their reach.
