‘The God We Love (Nicene Creed)’ with my friends @CityAlight is out now. We tried to handle this one with much care, treating the source material - the Nicene Creed - like the valuable treasure it is. Prolific modern hymn songwriters Jonny R & Rich T from @CityAlight answered the call - and 5 months, 250+ WhatsApp messages and several long transcontinental zoom calls later, we felt we were done. I hope for some this will be a fresh new angle on an ancient declaration you already know and love - and for others a brand new intro to this beautiful expression of our foundational Christian beliefs.

This year marks the 1700 year anniversary of the birth of the Nicene Creed. This beautiful statement of faith has made its way down through the centuries, and it mustn’t stop with us. It reminds us of important truths - and it helps us link arms with both the historic and the global church. The Nicene Creed has been voiced in many different ways and on this 1700 year anniversary, my friends @cityalight and I wanted to add one more version to the mix.
