Ultimately, this development proves that Ukraine’s targeted asymmetric warfare against Russian energy infrastructure has dealt a far more crippling blow to the Kremlin than many sweeping Western sanctions. Moscow is now burning through its financial reserves just to put out domestic fires, desperate to avert a total market collapse and subsequent civilian unrest.
