I am writing to express my disgust over the treatment of Thelma Louise at today’s Ken Paxton event in San Antonio. Thelma Louise is a Black conservative independent journalist from Austin and a genuine patriot. She left the Democratic Party two years ago, has worked alongside President Trump, and has stood with Texans fighting to protect this state. She has built a following of more than 200,000 people who watch her work. Today she attended your event as a supporter. She was escorted out and told that you, the campaign manager, wanted her removed. She left in tears. This is indefensible. Ken Paxton is not universally popular, but many of us are working to keep Texas red. Removing a Black woman who crossed the aisle, stood with President Trump, and showed up to support the cause is not only cruel—it is politically stupid. How dare you treat a Black conservative woman this way? Who do you think you are? The optics of a campaign ejecting a Black female conservative journalist who left in tears will not stay quiet. I fully expect her 200,000 followers to contact your campaign and demand answers. I also expect this incident to reach the White House. I am requesting a clear, public explanation for why Thelma Louise was ordered removed. Until one is provided, this will continue to be documented and reported. White liberal with the James Talarico sign in her front yard just got confronted by Black neighbors over street parking. When they told her it’s a public street in a historically Black neighborhood next to the HBCU, she yelled that this is her neighborhood and they paid $1.5 million for the house — then hit them with “your graduation rate is only 25%.” Move in, put up the progressive campaign sign, then lecture the people who were already here about their own community while trying to control who can park on a public street. This is what “diversity and inclusion” looks like for a lot of white liberals once they buy the house.

Based on my Cornell follow the money findings, and with a daughter applying to colleges right now, I wanted to look across more universities to understand how far this goes. So I built Behind the Ivory Walls, a model that ranks America’s 31 richest universities on who controls their police, how many sexual assaults they never count, what they have already been caught failing to stop and how much they have paid to settle abuse claims. I scored every school on 10 criteria. They come down to three questions: who controls the police, how many assaults never get counted, and how much the school has already paid for abuse it was warned about. The 10 criteria: who employs the campus police, who those police answer to, whether city police are required to lead sex crime cases, whether the public can see the records, whether anyone outside oversees the department, how many assaults never make the official count, how many victims tell no one at the school, the school’s documented failures, the money it has paid for abuse, and pending lawsuits. Highlights of findings: (1) USC, Cornell and Columbia stand apart from the rest. Each one has paid or agreed to pay ~ $1 billion or more for abuse by a doctor the institution had been told about. (2) 21 of the 31 schools have no rule that requires anyone outside the university to see a sexual assault report before it reaches a prosecutor. Only seven have a written rule that hands sex crime cases to city police.
