Just published my latest op-ed in the Miami Herald on Florida’s “Schools of Hope” expansion and why public schools like Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High deserve the space and resources to keep growing.
Public education should be strengthened — not pushed aside.
Today my Uber driver said we live in the “Divided States of America.”
When both parties care more about winning than governing, regular people feel it first.
Unity shouldn’t be radical. Hope shouldn’t be naïve. And citizenship shouldn’t be partisan. #CongressDoBetter
Not in my America.
In my America, different languages and cultures come together under the same Stars and Stripes. When divisive messages like these are dressed up as patriotism, they threaten the very unity the flag represents.
Proud to contribute to the 51st Harvard Youth Poll with the @HarvardIOP Public Opinion Project. Our latest data shows a generation under strain, only 13% of young Americans think the country is on the right track, and 64% say U.S. democracy is “in trouble” or has already failed.
Thank you Erin Sicker from @fneigives for joining me on the Civic Action Podcast. The episode is now available on YouTube and all major platforms. Make sure you tune in!

Thank you to Isabella Brana for featuring Virtutem Populo in Montage. Our mission is clear: empower students to lead, speak up, and make change today. Grateful to my team and ready for the work ahead.
Today we cut the ribbon on the Trojan Pantry at Hialeah-Miami Lakes Sr. High! Grateful to have played a small part in bringing this to life. Huge thanks to Giving Gators, Hidalgo Group, School Pantry Coalition, HML Alumni, and all who made it happen. Let’s keep feeding hope!
Special thanks to Ms. Nunez who played an intricate role in helping Maurits Acosta and Roberto Carmona achieve this great honor! 'Behind every great student is a great teacher'! @HMLSrHighSchool @maurits_acosta @MDCPS #YOURBESTCHOICE
Last night, I delivered the class address at my high school commencement ceremony.
From third-grade tears in the Netherlands to a mic in Hialeah, this speech is for every student who started over, every parent who sacrificed, and every dream that refused to die.
