It’s been the honor of my life to serve as your mayor. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for putting your trust in me and my administration to lead our city these past 12 years – you made a grown man’s childhood dream come true.
Thank you, Denver.
Our Administration has proudly focused on the people, especially those who are most vulnerable.
👉🏾10,000+ affordable homes have been built/ preserved.
👉🏾15,000 of our unhoused neighbors have been re-housed.
👉🏾We reduced child poverty by 13 %.
👉🏾Raised the min. wage to $17.29.
🛫And Denver will continue to connect to the world with the 17 international flight destinations we established, which are slated to have a $4 billion economic impact for Colorado.
My hope is that my Administration built a solid foundation for the Johnston Administration to succeed.
A foundation that’s built on the shoulders of the mayors who came before us.
💼Tens of thousands of new jobs and new businesses have been created, taking what was near 9% unemployment during the recession in 2011 to only 2.9% today.
Nothing like a beautiful Colorado summer night at world renown @RedRocksCO with the legendary @algreen and the Colorado Symphony Orchestra

Rebuilding Denver's economy was one of our top priorities when we started. Working closely with business leaders our @DenverOED team, we moved aggressively to make our city the startup and small business capital of the country.
As many of you know, this is my final week as mayor of Denver. It's a reflective time for our office and we have a few things to share in the coming days.
There was a tremendous amount of excitement, energy as we took the reins of the city. In my first 100 days, we worked to change the culture of Denver's safety dept., close the achievement gap for our young people and set the city on a path to recover from the Great Recession.
Today, @DenverPolice Chief Thomas, @DenSafetyDept exec. dir. Saldate and I, joined by Mayor-elect @MikeJohnstonCO, brought together local nonprofit leaders and youth advocates on how we can better support our young people and keep them safe throughout the summer and beyond.
