Gavin Newsom is attacking billionaires and calling for a new "social contract."

What's ironic is that Newsom is wealthy today because of a billionaire.

Newsom's father managed the wealth of billionaire Gordon Getty. A big part of his job was finding ways to shield the fortune from taxes.

Newsom's father also funneled the billionaire's money to his son Gavin, as Gordon Getty was the lead investor in 10 of Gavin's first 11 businesses.

Gavin Newsom even got his start in politics because of his father's powerful connections. He's a wealthy, privileged, elitist campaigning against the wealthy, privileged, elites. Perfectly on par for a California Democrat politician.

I posted this story a few years ago. It's funny and true.

When I was 14 years old my cousin worked security for Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. They were doing a show in Providence RI, an hour from where I lived. My cousin called me and asked me if I wanted to come to the show.

My older cousin drove us. Walberg worked out before the show and my cousin let me in the gym to watch. I sat in the gym and waited for a picture. Walberg agreed to do one. Right before the picture he turned to me and said “don’t blink, I’m only doing one with you.”
