Moon, Venus, and United Airlines 2025.
We are treated tonight with the moon and Venus in conjunction, with the contrail from UAL 2025 en route to Puerto Rico catching vestiges of the setting sun. Waning 15% crescent moon. #astronomy#conjunction
Corduroy-looking cloud pattern over DC a couple of hours before sunset tonight. Cirrus fibratus clouds? @capitalweather says we might get 2-5 inches of snow starting at midnight. Looking forward to it.

Sadly noting the passing Friday of @BenFerencz, a lawyer and former Nuremberg prosecutor who advocated for more than 75 years for the peaceful use of law to settle disputes and to hold war criminals accountable using international law. https://t.co/zd3S02YE0P #lawnotwar
Benjamin Ferencz was born on this day in 1920. Here he is in March 2023 reminding us to "Do something you love." Let's wish Ben a happy birthday!
As a present, please share some of Ben's stories with someone in your life: https://t.co/RbhAMS5f1k

@shelbygrad Randy brought kindness, caring, and calm to the OC metro desk. He took his time to offer guidance and wisdom even under deadline pressure. Thank you for sharing this, Shelby. It's sad to lose people like Randy.
Tonight's full moonrise over Washington, DC. The October full moon is called the Hunter's Moon, but it looks to me more like the Pumpkin Moon rising over the DC pumpkin patch.

Another beautiful DC sunrise on a day @capitalweather says should be sunny and warm. I love how, as we approach the fall equinox on Sept 23, the sun tops the Washington Monument like a lollipop looking across the National Mall.
Quality, descriptive software update message from @Samsung Electronics for the Galaxy Wearable Android app. "Fixed the error" says it all.
Since that is the depth of the public-facing description, I'm curious what the developer wrote in the code commit message.
@petemuntean While air traffic was diverted to runway 15/33, we had a steady stream of jets flying a few hundred feet above our building. This photo from 6:45pm shows a Southwest jet about 600 feet overhead. I wonder what it looked like for residents a few floors higher.
Sunset over Rosslyn, VA taken from the Memorial Bridge in DC. Cars slowed and runners stopped midstride to gaze over the railing at this gorgeous light show.
