The Nuggets’ decision to trade Peyton Watson is frustrating, but not nearly as frustrating as what they got in return. | Shapiro and Piro w/ @Shapalicious@MediaByAP
Peyton Watson waited for his opportunity with the Nuggets, finally got it last season, and showed exactly what he could do. Which makes the decision to trade him even more frustrating. | Shapiro and Piro w/ @Shapalicious@MediaByAP
The decision to trade Peyton Watson is a tough one. But I think the emotion surrounding the move has more to do with reopening wounds that are defining this era than with losing an impact player.
Even if they kept Watson, are the Nuggets good enough to be legit contenders?
@David_Alires303 He's a good player no doubt. I just think they've been living on a prayer for a little while now. It sucks, but just the reality of where they are at.
@rxmart2 When he’s healthy sure. He was undoubtedly their last best option for having an All-Star caliber player alongside Jokic/Murray. Still not sure it would have been enough. I think they should have kept him fwiw. But the downfall started before this.
I was standing in line for a @FlyFrontier flight when the guy behind me goes:
"You're Spencer Jones, right?"
"Yup."
"What are you doing here?"
I laughed. "Same as you. Saving a little money."
And weirdly, this isn't the first time I've gotten that question.
It's funny how quickly expectations change when people think you have money. We tell young people, and especially young athletes, to save, invest, and be responsible.
Then when they actually do it, we're surprised.
Why wouldn't I fly a budget airline for a quick weekend trip with no checked bag if it gets me where I need to go?
Just because you make more money doesn't mean you always have to keep the appearance that you do.
And that's easier said than done.
