👀 SCOOP: Rep. Ro Khanna traveled to Israel and the West Bank this week while Congress is in recess, according to two individuals with knowledge of the trip.

Nightmare situation for a political adviser. You start working for a politician. You’ve only know them briefly in politics. They assure you the allegations aren’t true. You defend them to the hilt. You suddenly discover you never knew them at all when it’s all too late.
I asked Rahm Emanuel about the members of the far-left wing of the Democratic Party who rallied in Times Square the day after 10/7.
“I have no place for the moral bankruptcy of those that found Oct. 8 as the day to cheer 1,200 people not only killed but sexually abused, and for taking hostage 250 people," he told me.

In a short span of time, the 2017 rallying cry of “Believe all women” gave way to “Believe women whose politics align with ours.”

The litmus test that progressive Jewish Dems now face — disavow Israel or get lost — is the same one I (& my @jewishinsider colleagues) have covered since 10/7.
It's showed up for years in fields as varied as mental health, abortion access & pediatrics. Now it's on Capitol Hill.

A cautionary tale here for all the Dems who turned to character assassination to discredit one of multiple women - this is what that tactic got you:
“Racicot said she later felt compelled to go public about her experience because the reaction to the Times story was dominated by controversy about another woman, Lyndsey Fifield, who alleged Platner mistreated her and faced attacks because of her ties to the Republican Party”
An ex-girlfriend of Graham Platner who hadn't wanted to go public about having been sexually assaulted by him did so in response to the disgusting pile-on that happened to another ex-girlfriend of Platner because of her politics.

New from me @jewishinsider: Arizona Jewish leaders regret supporting Yassamin Ansari after she turns against Israel
Ansari is now rejecting support from Democratic Majority for Israel after the group championed her 2024 candidacy https://t.co/h01uiKhS6Z
I asked @pressfreedom *two years ago* why they include terrorists on their lists of so-called journalists killed in Gaza. They only adjusted the list now.
Sens. Schiff + Padilla both told me that SF state Sen Scott Wiener—who was accosted by anti-🇮🇱 protesters at a trans pride event—was targeted for being Jewish.
Other CA pols, including his congressional opponent, wouldn't go that far.

Darializa Avila Chevalier, the Democratic congressional nominee endorsed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who ousted longtime Rep. Adriano Espaillat in Tuesday's primary, maintained a since-deleted Twitter account with repeated sympathetic references to communism, Marxist ideology and Soviet figures, including Vladimir Lenin. https://t.co/bKLvRfd09f
