June 7, 2010: The @Mets selected Matt Harvey in first round (seventh pick overall) in the draft. Harvey made his @MLB debut as a Met in 2012 and would go on to record a 35-39 record over parts of six seasons before being traded to the @Reds last month. #LGM

June 7, 1964: The @Mets and @Dodgers play a doubleheader at Shea, losing the first game, 6-1, and settling for a five inning tie in Game 2. The umps halted the game after a 1 hour/7 minute rain delay. Jim Hickman’s 5th inning HR tied Game 2.
