Me: Hey kid! Back up, you're going to get bit by that crocodile if you're not careful.
Them: Crocodile lover. Big Croc shill. Why do you hate innocent kids?
Belfast after the 'beheading', by Aris Roussinos (@arisroussinos)
The nightmare scenario for Sinn Féin would have been Catholics rioting against immigrants. That did not happen: instead, working-class Catholics merely turned out to watch their Protestant neighbours riot with an anthropological detachment newly devoid of open contempt.
I have never until now heard working-class Catholics, from devoutly Republican areas, talking about the coming together of the ‘Orange and the Green’ with anything other than derision.
At Ardoyne Roundabout, one of North Belfast’s most volatile sectarian interface areas, protestors from both communities shook hands and declared amity in scenes that were genuinely startling.

I think a lot of people will find, unless they are already eating a ketogenic diet and working out, that 72 hours isn’t enough to gain that mental clarity and energy. Five days almost surely will though.
Dana White says a 72-hour water fast (done a couple times a year) completely changed how he feels.
On Adin Ross, he described it as giving insane mental clarity and making you feel incredible. He sticks strictly to water + zero-calorie electrolytes the whole time and calls it one of the most beneficial things he’s ever done for himself.
48–72 hour water fasting has been shown in studies to significantly increase autophagy (cellular repair and cleanup), boost growth hormone levels, improve insulin sensitivity, and reduce systemic inflammation. It also enhances metabolic flexibility, helping the body burn fat more efficiently.
Have you ever tried a multi-day water fast? Would you consider doing a 72-hour one?
i find it grows. You might suffer a carb hangover. Or caffeine withdrawal. But sometime in first three days you get a little energy boost just because your body is no longer digesting food. And you feel lightness. But sometimes deep ketosis takes longer, that’s when you feel steady energy all day, and sometimes your overnight sleep shortens a bit because you’re just burning energy. That shift can sometimes be felt over an hour or two. You know you’re hard core when you’re energy is high, mental clarity is high and your breath stinks. (Most lost body fat is actually broken down and exhaled)
@TheJordanTruth Kemp said that Rodman was what killed the Sonics. He was a huge difference maker against the Jazz too, playing hard against bigger guys like Antoine Carr and the Mailman.
@lukei4655@JHaddad01 Right, the SSPX position seems to be that they expect some future pope to anathematize errors that the recent and current Popes have either tolerated or encouraged. Their faith in the “next pope” has been rewarded until now.
@lukei4655@JHaddad01 As you admit, there is no one but the pope to determine whether the pope is a heretic. I think your formulation -ipso facto deprived of office- is not one bound by the deposit of faith but speculation. Every other heretic is adjudicated ultimately by your supreme law giver.
@lukei4655@JHaddad01 My understanding of the papacy is that the pope is supposed to bind himself to Tradition, and to the salvation of souls. Not “L’eglise cest moi”
@lukei4655@JHaddad01 It seems facially to me you are describing tyranny not law. The pope may command me to worship Baal, error in law being possible, and I have no recourse.
@lukei4655@JHaddad01 If it were you, I think you’d meet with them. If only because it would weigh on you that hundreds of Catholic priests who currently have faculties to hear confessions and faithful attached to them, should see their spiritual father’s solicitude and not just his justice.
