We’ll be saying auf wiedersehen to #RheaNorwood, @LaytonWilliams, @michaelahomka and ten other members of the #KitKatClub on 21 September. With 7 weeks left to see our current cast, there's never been a better time to step inside “the best show in London” (Daily Telegraph). Book now: https://t.co/3MpRvu6IIz
I am appalled by what has taken place in cities across the UK this weekend. We have seen racists terrorising local communities, raiding shops owned by people of colour, and what look terrifyingly like attempted lynch mobs.
The racist protesters have been chanting “stop the boats". We all know where this poisonous rhetoric has come from.
This MUST be a wake-up call to all politicians who have actively promoted or given in to the rhetoric of immigration being a threat to this country.
My home city of Bristol is a proudly diverse and welcoming city. The hatred and organised political violence of those who came to intimidate our communities has no place here and we stand proudly against Islamophobia, racism and all forms of hate.
I thank the police for their efforts to contain those intent on violence and maintain safety in the city, and thank those who came out in peaceful support of the UK as a tolerant and welcoming country.
Our work now is to unite - in Bristol and nationally - to support those who feel unsafe and targeted by this hatred, and to build that unity against the far-right’s racism, Islamophobia and violence.
We’re delighted that @LaytonWilliams is eligible to win ‘Best Male Lead Actor in a Musical’ at this year’s Black British Theatre Award (@theBBTAs).
Please consider nominating him for this prestigious award here: https://t.co/eUJ5XsY1Vm
💫 We're excited to reveal the cast and artwork for #Reverberation – the sexy, funny, and hauntingly human play by Matthew López, the Tony and Olivier Award-winning writer of #TheInheritance. Directed by Jack Sain (@jackelsain), this is our flagship Autumn production.
🚨 BREAKING: Nigel Farage's Clacton campaign has been exposed to have evidence of racism and homophobia
One canvasser about Rishi Sunak: "That f**king p*** we got in - what good is he?"
About small boats arrivals: "Just f**king shoot them"
Nearly 300 years ago, the first Black performer to play Juliet was Rachael Baptiste, an Irishwoman also hugely successful as a singer.
She performed in Lancashire in the mid-1700s.
"There is not one Juliet. There never has been"
Dr Sophie Duncan (@clamorousvoice) author of Searching For Juliet, gives us the history of Juliet.
