Just been on a journey through Prof. David Fishwick's talk at the @BreathingCity air quality & health event – heartbreaking stories of tragedy, fascinating technical detail, a sprinkling of humour... and numerous unnecessary disclaimers because this was NOT boring at all!
@jaya2723 ugh, I really wonder how some people can say things like that with zero emotional intelligence or empathy. Much love to you and your family!!
@CanopyRobin @floschechter Ugghh that sucks. Some much nicer transcript reading: the podcast episode, “Trans Saints and Gay Vikings”! https://t.co/1hKgLyDqve
Throwback to our PhD students @MichelleWLWan , @sirelkir, @herbiebradley, Tudor and Arduin attending the UKRI Foundational Artificial Intelligence CDT showcase at Cumberland Lodge last month. Thank you for hosting a great series of talks and panel discussions @ai_ucl!
The second time I ever met Will, @beadcala & I were feeling a bit hopeless about the realistic impact of our research projects. Will gave the most wholesome pep talk, on the spot, and in my journal that day I wrote "I was just smiling the whole time."
Had a nice afternoon out in the sun with @robertocipolla and @IgnasBud, testing our 3D shape and pose estimation method 😁

Last week’s meeting we opted for a bench in the middle of a busy street. Supposed to be outdoor coffee shop seating but felt more like a bus stop. That was pretty entertaining.
On Friday I received the formal award of my PhD, so spent some time over the weekend reflecting on the process and wanted to share my thoughts in case they're of any use of anyone else thinking about, or currently completing, a PhD @PhDVoice#phdlife
I will be leaving England soon and people (@StaniaszekZosia and @MichelleWLWan) have decided that I didn't experience enough of the local food culture. But nothing a trip to Tesco can't solve.
This will be a thread of me trying everything in the picture (and probably more)
Had a great time at the BAS Student Symposium this week! It was so cool to see all the research going on, and meet other students (in person!!) 🇦🇶 @BAS_News
Here’s a few things that you can do to make your social media content accessible to blind and vision impaired people:
Add image descriptions.
Capitalise the first letter of each word within a hashtag.
Don't use too many emojis. #WorldSightDay
-if an experiment will be successful?
-if a paper will be accepted?
-if a PhD will be over?
-if there will be any jobs?
-if a grant will be successful?
Academic insecurities will be around forever, so take a break for self-care as no job is worth more than your good health.
It was great to present my research at Oxford University last week as part of the 'Machine Learning and Physics' seminar series. In case you missed it, my talk is now on The Internet™ until the end of time (or YouTube): https://t.co/ysxxPUVfEW
MRes students at @AI4ER_CDT (of which we're a host partner) are doing some fascinating research projects - like 'Accelerating the remote sensing revolution in forest ecology with #AI' & 'Counting whales by satellite with #DeepLearning'. https://t.co/zcKaaiPL5J
