Today is the final day of classes at the 2026 42nd annual University of Michigan Debate Institutes! It was our largest/ most successful camp to date. We wish everyone safe travels home and hope to see many of you with us again in Ann Arbor next summer June 20-August 3. Go Blue!

UM debaters Conner Shih/Avi Shah and Eleanor Barrett/Jiyoon Park are debating in the Quarters of the 80th annual National Debate Tournament hosted by the University of Houston. This is 13th year in a row at least 1 UM debate team has reached Octas or better at the NDT. Go Blue!

80th National Debate Tournament Day 2 updates from Houston: Barrett/Park 6-0 with 15 ballots, Esmailzadeh/Shetty 5-1 with 14 ballots, and Shah/Shih 5-1 with 11 ballots. This is the 19th straight year at least one UMich debate team has reached the elim rounds at the NDT. Go Blue!
