Last words of George Floyd were ; I can’t breathe Starmer, seeing an opportunity, took the knee.
The last words of Henry Nowak were; I can’t breathe.
Starmer, not seeing an opportunity because the victim was white rather than black, remained standing.
And politicians wonder why we despise them.
@lufcstats hi pal random question. In the old days, pre premier league have the games ever been analysed and stats of shots, distance covered etc. been made? If anyone knows you will MOT
BREAKING NEWS
“Furious” Starmer was not told local elections had taken place yesterday.
The PM claims civil servants kept him in the dark until this morning.
He has ordered an enquiry into why the elections had gone ahead without his knowledge.
“I thought we’d cancelled them” he told Sky News.
When an #LUFC employee was found on a public footpath outside Derby’s training ground, the ‘spygate’ scandal was the main football story for weeks.
Leeds’ manager at the time - Marcelo Bielsa - was accused of not respecting English customs and culture.
One after another, pundits came out against Marcelo, from TalkSport to Sky to the papers.
Aware of the enormous backlash, Bielsa called an impromptu press conference.
Some people thought he might be resigning, or that he was sacked - such was the furore in the media that had been whipped up against him.
Instead, he admitted that Leeds had spied on every opponent that season; and then went on to give a PowerPoint presentation on all the information he had gathered on Frank Lampard’s Derby County.
There was no specific rule Leeds broke so the EFL fined Leeds £200,000 for a crime against the spirit of the game.
The spirit of football can be found - in case you’re wondering - tucked neatly under the layers of agents, betting sponsorships, state-funded sports-washing and dynamic priced tourist tickets.
Bielsa payed the fine himself.
The EFL subsequently brought in an ‘anti-espionage’ rule to stop clubs watching opponents train 72 hours before games.
Now that Middlesbrough have reportedly contacted the EFL after finding a Southampton spy watching them train ahead of the playoff semi-final, I look forward to the backlash.
I wonder if Southampton will face the same scrutiny and criticism that #LUFC and Bielsa did?
I wonder if Southampton will be fined, and if they are fined, I wonder if their manager Tonda Eckert would pay it himself?
The spygate scandal is unique no longer, but I doubt it will be the same.

The entitlement of the ‘big clubs’ and the attention they garner never ceases to amaze me.
When Manchester United found themselves floundering in the first half last night against #LUFC, shell-shocked by Noah Okafor’s double; they resorted to throwing themselves to the floor and begging the referee for handouts.
Cunha got a yellow for diving.
Fernandes’ got a yellow for non-stop begging and dissent..
Martinez got a red card for pulling Calvert-Lewin’s hair.
ManchesterUnited have every off-field benefit stacked in their favour against Leeds.
Revenue that is multiples of the Whites, ground capacity, training facilities, wage bill - it all dwarfs Leeds.
But they have to resort to cheating when things don’t go their way.
Under 10s know that diving is cheating, that you have to respect the referee and they also know that pulling someone’s hair is a red card.
So for their club-captain and manager to come out after the game and bemoan the referee - and for that to dominate the media narrative - rather than the brilliance of Leeds United and their tactics is a stunning display of entitlement and faux-injustice.
A tug on the hair is a red card.
Now can we talk about Leeds United’s history-making performance?
