Last summer, I stepped away from filmmaking to focus on writing. After a number of shorts and docs, I decided to write a feature film script.
I wrote every day before work between 5am-8am.
The first draft was 203 pages.
Today, I’ve locked the final script at 130 pages.
Join us for our annual festival opener - Indigenous curated hosted and co-developed Haudenosaunee Micro-Short Film Festival.
Sept 2 1-3pm at Burchfield Penney Arts Center!
This is a photo from yesterday's closing ceremony of Sunny Bunny, Ukraine's first LGBTQIA+ film festival.
If Russia had taken Kyiv in 3 days, this wouldn't have happened. Anything queer would have been banned by this point (if not worse).
Please remember that.
Now that I’m no longer a commercial producer under any NDAs I can say this.

Seeing the variance in rates from Black talent vs non Black talent broke my heart.
Our forth episode of our BONUS SEASON with @minoritiesfilm is all about the #wgastrike (which we fully support) and what it means for micro budget filmmakers.
Dropping this week.
Stay Tuned.

Contrary to popular belief: not every filmmaker wants to join the machine.
Some of us enjoy making films because we love storytelling. We aren’t driven by monetary compensation or what will “sell” in the marketplace.
Our day jobs sustain us, and our art is our creative outlet.
To the indie filmmakers who
• have jobs to pay the bills
• are parents who make films when they can
• save for months and months to pay for camera gear
• spend the weekend writing scripts
• keep going after festival rejections
We see you. We’re so proud of you.
