Clubs are invited to submit individual Club trophy nominations for junior batting, bowling, and fielding trophies to the League Chairman and the Secretary by the end of this week. There are individual awards for juniors in each division.
As agreed at the AGM, all players should be registered with the league before they play in 2024.
With an expected 25 players and 21 teams, this is not an overnight exercise.
Register your players ASAP with reference to instructions that can be found on our Facebook page.
New rules for 2024 include,
a) all playing players to be registered on Play Cricket.
b) all Captains MUST be DBS checked.
C) The Captain or the Club registered Contact should attend the toss to encourage the fair play ethos of the league and its focus on junior development.
The 2023 season makes positive reading. 19 clubs in an expanded comp across 3 divisions. At the end of the season, just 8 fixtures were cancelled by a club and went un-played. 7 fixtures were played as a T20. 97 out of 103 fixtures were appointed MYSCL umpires.
2 important roles need filling
1) League Disciplinary Officer.
2) A League Safe-guarding officer.
Clubs were asked to consult with their clubs Please contact Tim ([email protected]) if you can help out.
A quick reminder that if you or your club have any RULE CHANGE PROPOSALS for the Mid Yorkshire Sunday League then please could you send those ASAP so that they can be discussed at the AGM in December.
@ConnorTeale99 Thank you. No change is also an option. It just feels unfortunate if you play 60 overs etc with a no result at the end of it....but absolutely get your point with our leagues development focus
Lots of abandoned games in the great British summer so are ready for DLS? Or the more traditional comparative scores subject to 20 overs per side minimum? Be good to get thoughts
An amazing Sunday for these two youngsters, both taking a hatrick to help their teams gain victories in the SE Section. Hatricks are very rare, let alone 2 on the same day in the same league!
