My new website is live: https://t.co/XMX0EzssBT
I’m excited to share it. This new site feels like a clear reflection of me, my work, and what matters most.
With everything happening these days, leading with authenticity, appreciation, and trust feels as important as ever.
On this week’s episode of my podcast, I talk about why human connection matters more than ever right now, how it impacts our performance, and what we can do to stay connected in a world that often pulls us apart.

Sometimes the greatest lessons in life come from the moments we never would’ve chosen.
The losses. The setbacks.
Not because those experiences are fun or easy… but because of who we become as we move through them.
I recently had the privilege of delivering the opening keynote at JAM, the annual user conference for Jenzabar.
Jenzabar is a leading tech company that helps colleges and universities operate more effectively and support student success.
It was inspiring to be there!
It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through the year.
This time of year always invites a little reflection for me.
Not just on goals or productivity… but on how I’m actually showing up.
What’s working?
What feels aligned?
What feels heavy or no longer necessary?
On this week’s episode of my podcast, I talk about why sometimes the wisest and most effective choice is to pause, wait, and resist the urge to take action immediately (if at all).

Hot take:
Recognition is overrated.
Most workplaces are good at recognizing performance…
But not as good at valuing people for who they are.
And people can feel the difference.
If you want real trust on your team…
Start with appreciation, not just recognition.
What baseball taught me and still teaches me about leadership…
Even now, I come back to these lessons all the time.
⚾ Teamwork: no one succeeds alone
⚾ Failure: it’s part of the process and a part of success
⚾ Resilience: there’s always another pitch and another game
There’s a real cost to focusing too much on what we can’t control.
It drains us. Distracts us. Stresses us out.
And over time, it pulls us away from the places where we do have agency.
On this week’s episode of my podcast, I talk about the role perspective plays in how we experience success and setbacks and how the meaning we make of our experiences can shape who we become.

One of the most helpful things we can do, especially in intense or uncertain moments, is this:
Name more than one thing that’s true.
Sometimes I feel excited and scared. Grateful and disappointed. Hopeful and overwhelmed. All at the same time.
Today is Memorial Day.
A day to pause… and remember.
To honor the men and women who lost their lives while serving this country.
It’s easy for this day to become just another long weekend.
But at its core, it’s about sacrifice.
Now that my new website is officially live, I’ve been reflecting. Updating the site itself was one thing.
But in a lot of ways, it also feels connected to the inner work I’ve been doing.
Not just updating the “source code” of the website, but updating my own source code too.
It’s been great to hear from people over the past few days about my new website.
More than anything, I want this new site to reflect what matters most to me and in my work: authenticity, appreciation, trust, teamwork, and human connection.

I’ve been on the road a bit recently...
And while every organization is unique, I keep noticing some common themes:
🔹 Trust is fragile
🔹 Burnout is still very real
🔹 Change fatigue is everywhere
There’s a real cost to focusing on what we can’t control.
It drains us. It distracts us. It stresses us out.
And most importantly… it pulls us away from where we actually have agency.
I struggle with this too.
I think most of us do.
On this week’s episode of my podcast, I talk about the difference between creating healthy boundaries and emotionally checking out and why it’s so important to stay grounded without becoming disconnected.

One of the biggest factors in whether people speak up, contribute, and fully engage… is whether they feel safe.
Not “safe” in a formal or policy-driven way. Safe in a human way.
Do they feel seen? Do they feel heard?
There’s a balance I see leaders struggle with all the time.
We think we have to choose between being demanding… or being supportive.
But the truth is, it’s not one or the other.
