Last week, Team Dovilla knocked 953 doors and joined neighbors at Broadview Heights Home Days, a screening of @washingtonmovie with @AfpOhio in Strongsville, and Walk About Wednesday in Olmsted Falls.
With 113 days to go, we are working hard across the 17th District!
Slowly but surely, the Court is chipping away at Progressives' extra-constitutional delegation of executive power to an unelected administrative "fourth branch" of government. The Founders created a unitary executive elected by and responsible to the people as the sovereign.
More ought to be done to restore republican principles, including Congress writing precise statutes rather than delegating authority to agencies to promulgate rules. That said, it seems consent of the governed is gradually being recovered from more than a century of intentional degradation by those at odds with the Founders' vision.
While many are disappointed in the Supreme Court decisions regarding birthright citizenship and mail-in ballots, there’s a huge win to celebrate in the Trump v. Slaughter decision.
Senior Fellow Ronald J. Pestritto writes on the significance of the Court embracing unity in the executive branch. https://t.co/PYjZGFkD2T

An absolute man. When Bowdoin College denied Chamberlain’s request for a military leave of absence from his professorship to fight for his country, he requested academic leave to study in Europe, which the college approved. And then he promptly joined the Union Army.
The rest is history.
🇺🇸 What makes this story better? Chamberlain shouldn't have even been alive.
Less than a year before receiving the Confederate surrender at Appomattox, then Col. Joshua Chamberlain took a Minié ball straight through his pelvis at Petersburg.
The bullet shattered bones and severed his bladder and urethra. The injury carried a 90%+ mortality rate.
But Chamberlain refused to die.
In a field hospital tent, without proper anesthesia, Dr. Abner Shaw spent hours probing the wound.
To map the severed urinary pathway, he used a highly experimental procedure. He inserted two long, metal surgical probes into opposite ends of the tract until they clicked together, a method that laid the groundwork for modern urological surgery.
The pain was so torturous for Chamberlain that Shaw begged to stop just to let him die in peace. Chamberlain flatly refused and ordered him to keep cutting.
Miraculously, he survived. Just 5 months later, he was back in the saddle leading troops in the final campaign of the war.
But his wound never truly healed. It left him with an external fistula that leaked urine constantly.
He required primitive catheterization and endured severe chronic pain and recurring infections for the rest of his life.
He underwent 4 more unsuccessful surgeries in his lifetime (in 1865, 1866, 1883, and 1893) to try and close the wound. All of them failed.
Yet, despite all this, he not only came back to the war, he went on to serve 4 terms as Governor of Maine and 12 years as the President of Bowdoin College.
Legend.
I enjoyed the opportunity to join Congressman @MaxMillerOH this morning for a breakfast town hall with Medina County Friends and Neighbors (MCFAN)
Max and I fielded questions from an engaged audience hailing from Cuyahoga and Medina counties and beyond on a wide range of policy matters - from foreign and federal to state and local.
Great way to spend the morning before more door-to-door visits with voters in Strongsville!
"IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN. We, whose names are underwritten...Having undertaken for the Glory of God, and Advancement of the Christian Faith...Do by these Presents, solemnly and mutually, in the Presence of God and one another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil Body Politick, for our better Ordering and Preservation, and Furtherance of the Ends aforesaid...Anno Domini; 1620." -Mayflower Compact
History has sailed into Boston Harbor.
The iconic Mayflower II has arrived for her first ever Sail Boston appearance, joining the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
Isn’t it incredible to see a full scale replica of the ship that carried the Pilgrims to New England more than 400 years ago ⛵️🇺🇸
I'm pleased to have earned the endorsement of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce for the fifth time in a general election for the Legislature.
As an entrepreneur since 2006, I remain a strong advocate for Ohio's business community, and as a policymaker I will continue to support initiatives that strengthen our state's environment for economic development and job creation.
It is no mistake that earlier this week Ohio was named the #1 state for business in the Nation. This designation is the direct result of policies I have championed during my service as a citizen-legislator in the House (2011-2016; 2025-present), including:
☑️ repeatedly lowering and flattening the state income tax
☑️ eliminating the estate/death tax
☑️ reducing burdensome regulations
☑️ encouraging increased energy generation
☑️ increasing government accountability and transparency
And we are not finished. I am working each day with my colleagues and our private sector partners to advance policies that ensure Ohio remains the best place in America to do business.
On this date in 2002, I was sworn in as an ensign in the United States Navy. Twenty-four years, four promotions, two mobilizations, two commands, and many drill weekends and annual trainings later, it remains a tremendous honor to serve the Nation and to lead Sailors in the world's greatest navy. Looking forward to what's next in 2027!
Back in Broadview Heights this evening for 2026 Home Days. Great to visit with residents who dropped by the Broadview Hts Republicans booth, which was staffed by some of our terrific volunteers. Home Days runs through Sunday evening, so be sure to bring the family for some fun!
.@BenSasse remains an inspiration. Let’s continue praying for our brother in Christ. Only the indwelling of the Holy Spirit produces what emanates from this man.
I'll wear it with honor, Lee. Times change; Marxism doesn't. Take a lesson from history. The record isn't remotely ambiguous as to the perils and outcomes of that wicked ideology.
You get today’s Joseph McCarthy Award for Red Scare Propagation, Mike. Why don’t you have some hearings and ask people “Have you ever been, or are you now, a member of the Communist Party?”
We're having a great week of door-to-door visits with voters in Strongsville and Broadview Heights. I truly enjoy talking directly with the people it is my duty to represent.
I get to do this important daily work with Jeremy Wald, our outstanding campaign manager (on leave from his day job in the House as our legislative aide), and Bryce Herold, our summer intern who is learning the ropes of public service on the campaign trail - the same way I started at his age.
Stay tuned over the next 116 days as we will be providing a weekly update on our canvassing progress, community events we've attended, and other important details. And look for opportunities to join us on several Super Saturdays with other volunteers as we resume massive door launches. All will be promoted via social media channels and our email list.
We've proven for years that no one will ever outwork Team Dovilla. On to another victory on November 3rd!
If the communists inside our walls have their way, they will finish off what remains of the republican form of government the Founders established in the United States Constitution.
And make no mistake: we WILL defend our Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
TERRIFYING: The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) have released new policy platforms that include eliminating the U.S. Senate, granting amnesty to all illegal aliens, defunding the Department of Defense, and replacing the President and Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary chosen by — and subordinate to — Congress.
Cato, Plutarch, Seneca, and Cincinnatus. Good models of character, leadership, and sacrifice for Washington - and us. Leadership starts with reading about great men and women and then emulating their virtuous behavior in our own time and communities.

Yet one more piece of evidence that Ohio needs to enact my zero-based budgeting bill (H.B. 645), which passed the House 81-15 on June 9th. Ohio's "balanced budget" requirement does not mean the state doesn't have a spending addiction just like the federal government.
State government does NOT need so much of YOUR money to function properly and deliver the services you expect.
The primary underlying cause of the ongoing property tax conversation we are having is twofold (and neither cause is a shortage of revenue): (1) too much spending; and (2) too many taxing jurisdictions.
H.B. 645 will tackle the first cause, and another of my bills, H.B. 574 (which remains stuck in the House Local Government Committee after only one hearing last winter), will begin to address the second one by encouraging more structural efficiency at the local level.
Call your state senator - https://t.co/0OI8CRlUhY - now and tell him or her that H.B. 645 needs prompt hearings and passage this fall before the Legislature adjourns!
Ohio collected $1.75 BILLION above projections.
Not a miracle — that's $1.75B over-collected from your paycheck, already spoken for before you heard the number.
I dug into where it goes on Windsor Investigates. 👇
