I’m humbled to be named a Truman Scholar representing the state of Mississippi and Harvard! A huge thank you goes out to God, my friends, my family, the Harvard staff, and the Dunster tutors who helped me on this journey. #truman21@TrumanApp
Voting should be easier and more convenient not harder and more difficult.
In Georgia they voted AFTER church. God comes first- but voting is NOT labor.
C’mon now!
Sen. Hyde-Smith trended online today after defending a bill which would have prevented the citizens of Georgia from early, in-person voting on Sundays. https://t.co/2KhQRwd4jk
When my turn came, I received my 2nd Covid shot. My thoughts go towards sorrow for the half-million American souls lost to the infection in one year- & appreciation that we finally have competent leadership in the White House leading this national effort. Get your shot. Mask up.
Congratulations, President @JoeBiden and Vice President @KamalaHarris. Democracy has indeed prevailed, the voices of the people have been heard and we march forward working toward progress for our nation. #InaugurationDay
400,000 needless American deaths on his watch. What a shame. What an awful legacy for 45. He’s gone from his perch of abusive power. Now let’s begin anew.
I extend my deepest condolences to the family of U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick who was killed in the line of duty during the brazen domestic terrorist attack on our Nation’s Capitol building. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
A U.S. Capitol Police officer, Brian Sicknick, has died from injuries sustained “while physically engaging” with pro-Trump rioters on Wednesday, according to officials. He’s the fifth person to die in connection with the attack in Washington. https://t.co/i5i164VMaW
ALL Mississippians must lift up @BennieGThompson. As Chair of Homeland Security, he will lead an investigation into the Capitol breach. After 1/20, Dems will control the House, Senate, and the White House, and Bennie alone will employ crucial leverage for our state.
I’ve worked and been in the Capitol a million times. Cameras are everywhere and everything is recorded. All who forcibly breached and damaged this building today should now begin looking over their shoulders. Sleep well tonight.
This is what sedition looks like.
Sedition is a serious felony punishable by fines and up to 20 years in prison and it refers to the act of inciting revolt or violence against a lawful authority with the goal of destroying or overthrowing it.
Criminal and shameful.
With proud anticipation, I look forward to celebrating the Senate victory of my friend @ossoff. With a Democrat majority in the Senate, the @JoeBiden administration can now move this nation forward.
Congratulations to my friend and brother @ReverendWarnock on his historic Georgia Senate victory. We are so proud. You will serve Georgia and the nation well.
At 3am Virginia’s statue of Robert E. Lee was removed from the US Capitol while Mississippi's statues of Jefferson Davis, president of the Confederacy, and J.Z. George, chief architect of the state's notorious 1890 Constitution, remain standing. Mississippi needs a change.
My thoughts today go to my dear friend, former Gov. William Winter. Throughout his life, he fought to improve equality in education and to ensure that Mississippi’s position in history was more favorable. He was a statesman, a man with keen intellect, and a man of courage.
I never thought taking a shot would be such a lovely sight. To all my friends and followers- wear a mask and take the shot. Thank you Dr. Dobbs for leading by example.
