I'm saddened to hear about the passing of Darryl Howerton, a Fresno guy who covered the NBA in the '90s and 2000s for Sport and Hoop magazines.

I'd run into him around town every so often. He still had a sportswriter's curiosity and a love for basketball. He'll be missed.
