Men - stop being creepy. I’m on a flight this morning. Window seat. The middle seat is empty. A man is in the aisle seat. He moved to the middle seat. He’s man spreading in to my seat area. He also stinks - way too much cologne and hair gel. It’s going to be a long 5hours.
A co worker told us at EOD he had used chatgpt to find out how windy it was. He used AI o find the wind and weather on a smartphone that has a built in weather app. He also has another weather app. Yet he used chatgpt. We are so cooked.
@united delayed our flight by over three hours tonight. Once we were on board, finally, with the door closed, we all got a text for an airport meal voucher. It expires halfway thru our flight, cannot be used on the flight either. A bit performative IMO as no one can use it.
@ManaByte I’m old enough to believe in physical copies. My two favorite games that I’ve played for years and still play, I have the physical discs of. Same with movies. All digital movie and music “purchases” are just long term rentals. The fine print has some nasty Easter eggs in there.
@rushicrypto Your credit also goes up the longer you have consistent paid off utility bills at the same address. So, if you rent and move every couple of years or yearly, your credit will go down, even if they are paid in full. The system is designed to help homeowners and punish renters
@LogicHasArrived@Rainmaker1973 Everything that is sent to space is highly regulated for smells. The air filters and systems purify the air so much past astronauts say it doesn’t smell like anything. And when they return to earth, the smell of fresh air can be overwhelming at first.
@McFranchisee Half of the stalls at the largest farmers market in my county also sell to Whole Foods. Like, exact same product. And it’s cheaper at WF. They let in a wholesale bread vendor who sells to half the restraunts and delis in SF. They have a cheese vendor who’s also in Costco. 🤦🏼♀️
@spoonfulofhan I was on a science based non profit board during the pandemic. Monthly lectures, on zoom/YT/FB, totally free. People from all over the county could attend. When we went back to in person, the new board Pres decided to end all streaming, accessibility was a “waste of time” to him
I do not trust stores/shops that charge more than 99¢ for a can of Arizona. They have to purposely order the cans without the price on them. This morning I saw $1.79 and $2.99. Third store was 89¢.
@1ssve My trick - make a contact “2026 Junk”. Add the junk callers and texters to that contact. Block that contact. I have one for each year since I got an iPhone.
Only 1% of oil comes thru the Strait of Hormuz yet the price per gallon where I live has gone up by $2 in the past two weeks. And we haven’t even switched to the summer blend yet which increases price by at least $1. At this rate by the end of next month, $10/gallon.
@glenn_tunes A lot of us are fully aware, horrified, living in a perpetual anxiety. But rent is still due. My jobs still expect me. If I lose any one of the four jobs I have, I won’t find a new one let alone be able to pay bills to simply survive.
@lyndseyfifield Things are designed to work for just 10% longer than the base warranty. There is no longer life time warranties bc things are not designed and built to last that long. Companies don’t make money if you only have to buy it once every 20 years or longer.
@JoePontillo Check your local library. A lot of them have fantastic DVD collections. A lot of them also have great online resources and connections to very random streaming services.
@RainyRentyn If you decide to make it from scratch and want to put kiwi chunks in it. Test freezing some small chunks of kiwi, like chocolate chip size or what ever you want the chunks to be. If the frozen kiwi is too hard, soak them in simple syrup. The sugar will help them stay a bit softer
@ick_real Putting pay is in a job listing is a law in CA. They get around it by putting a range. Saw a listing today for $40k-$150k. That’s a big range.
