UTEP men’s basketball hit the floor today for pickup ball ahead of summer workouts tomorrow.
A few early takeaways. Again, it was just pickup action.
- Squad is bigger, longer, and can score it.
- Cam McDaniels is a three-level scorer and looks impressive.
- Leif Moeller (6’7” guard) will be fun to watch running the offense.
- Jace Whiting is a bucket and a glue guy.
- Didn’t see much of the true freshmen, but Isaiah Ward stood out defensively.

@WCCSG_ The perseverance, the loyalty, the unending optimism that usually gets destroyed after the first couple of weeks. And yet we refuse to give up.
Cam McDaniels is one of the newcomers on UTEP's 2026-27 roster.
The three-level scorer averaged 17.4 PPG last season at John A. Logan College. He earned second-team NJCAA All-American honors.
Now, he's making the jump to DI with the Miners.

🇩🇪 MinerTalk: UTEP added Leif Möeller, a 6-foot-7 sophomore guard/forward transfer from Evansville.
The German product started all 32 games as a freshman in 2025-26, averaging 10.8 points, 4.0 assists, 3.8 rebounds and one steal per game. He ranked second in the Missouri Valley Conference in assists while shooting 37 percent from three-point range overall and 40 percent from the perimeter in league play.
Möeller’s game features explosive drives to the rim, sharp passing in transition and the ability to score at all three levels. He delivered multiple 18-point scoring outputs and showed stretches of solid shooting from the perimeter.
A versatile, high-IQ playmaker with size, Möeller gives coach Joe Golding a proven floor general to anchor a rebuilt backcourt.
His blend of athleticism, vision and perimeter skill should fit seamlessly into the Miners’ up-tempo system as UTEP transitions into a new era. 🔶

MinerTalk: Meet UTEP guard landed Reese Miller, a proven scoring transfer from William & Mary.
The guard led the Tribe in scoring last season at 12.1 points per game. He played a key role in William & Mary’s first 20-win season in six years, delivering 19 double-digit scoring games while shooting 45.3 percent from the field and adding 2.4 assists per game.
Miller’s game features scoring from all three levels: three-point shooting, quick-release pull-ups, soft touch around the rim and strong play in transition.
A Texas native from Round Rock, Miller brings familiarity with the region and a proven track record of production.
Miller is expected to compete for a significant role in the 2026-27 lineup as the program turns the page. 🔶

Muslims are losing the battle to implement Sharia and advance Islam in Texas, as Governor Greg Abbott cracks down on political Islam, bans the Muslim Brotherhood, and deports its foreign agents.
Cancer is the cruelest disease, because it appears as part of the host body. The reality, of course, is that it is an insidious invader. The hordes of Muslim invaders welcomed by Democrats into America are a Sharia Law cancer.
And it is spreading like only a cancer can.

Got some media availability with UTEP men’s basketball today and a familiar face joined: former Miner Tae Hardy.
The guard played professional basketball in Mongolia before suffering a season-ending leg injury. He hopes to be back in action fully by July and sign with another pro team by the end of the summer.
