@mduran_315 I truly enjoy it. They were so eager to know what happened. I think it makes them proud to be American, knowing how well we came together afterwards.
This is how we #neverforget. I really love teaching about 9/11. I was my students’ age when it happened and I still remember it clear as day. We chose to focus on the #heroes of that day. Students were engaged and soaking up every bit of it.
Do you ever find yourself missing your job on the weekend? Is that just a teacher thing? A new teacher thing? Don’t get me wrong, I love time off, too. I’m just so excited for this school year after the first week. 🥰
Thank you @ClaudiaStepan for the simple idea to bring something from our summer to share 🥰 students shared a piece of their summer and then took questions. Love building our Room 3 family by making connections with each other in the first week! @CamHeightsSTEM
@MissDesenberg @kelsssssiiiii When I moved 2 yrs ago at the end of the year I asked my students to write letters to my new students telling them about the class & giving them advice. So many smiles, laughter, and even tears seeing in black & white their thoughts of me! Love rereading!

@MissDesenberg Love looking back at pics from the year! I am an SLP/co-teacher for preschool class in suburb by PhillyPA. I teach amazing kids w/special needs. RT & maximize the potential of these tremendous little people! #clearthelists#supportteach#specialeducation

Great keynote speaker! Enjoying @smventura! Big takeaway.... homework only has a 21% chance of making a difference! If students can do your homework, they don’t need it. If homework is being sent home and students can’t do it...it’s not effective. Homework is an equity issue!
@MissDesenberg I absolutely love this idea!!! I have a drawer with all my past class photos that I look at. On the tough days it's important to remember all the students we have impacted, past, present, and future. #clearthelists https://t.co/JEACzoeQEv
If I go to the lunchroom or to the HS wing I will usually run into a past student who needs a hug or a hello. Seeing them & knowing that they still know I care always helps on the harder days. https://t.co/Q20z4lZItR #support_a_teacher#clearthelists#PLN#teachertwitter
@MissDesenberg I have this! I just put it in a file with my name on it. It works so well. On my worst days, I go and sit with one of my students and color while we talk. It always makes me smile. https://t.co/DqZfdizCqO
Something I started from day 1 is my Smile File. I use it when I need a pick-me-up bc I’m feeling defeated as a teacher. I keep kind words from parents & students.
What’s something you do to stay positive, even on your worst days? #dropyourlist for RT👇🏼#clearthelist
@MissDesenberg I also have a smile file. It is a binder filled with the pictures and notes that students have written me. Each year I hang new pictures on the wall and at the end of the year, I take them down and store them in the book. I love my babies. #clearthelist https://t.co/tNgJdb9p1z
@MissDesenberg I have a folder too but I ♥️ the name of yours!
