The idea that "a noisy space is a good space for learning" is not really supported by evidence (at least in terms of cognitive function). The really interesting is that more noise doesn't affect your effort levels but rather your ability to think. In other words, you can still be busy but not as cognitively engaged. This study would seem to have many implications for classrooms. https://t.co/HwNI8sCi5Q
This grito de la independencia in Mexico City's Zocalo was historic. First time it is done by a woman. My Y11 watched this today as part of their 'Festivals' module. Impressive views of a packed square after that. ¡Viva Mexico!

Here is a recording of the @educationgovuk Pupil Premium webinar (the word webinar is an abomination, I know!). I hope that people might find it useful. @joeybagstock @EssexResearchS@nicholasworsley https://t.co/9q6eWQzFzO
Research shows the brain is far more active when we write by hand than when we type. Despite this, local authorities are spending millions on iPads for every pupil—a reckless decision amid declining literacy rates and other urgent pressures. Handwriting matters; we must not abandon it.
