I'm paying 20% more for gas this morning because of an unconstitutional American war in #Iran.

This is why the US elections matter, not just to Americans, but to everyone. Your votes change how I live and I have absolutely no influence in it.

Don't tell me to "stay in my lane." My "lane" is feeding my family. This war makes it harder to do that.

It's not a trick, and its not nefarious. Just need to think critically about it.

The announcement is an algorithmic calculation based on the number of passengers and assumption that all or most of them will be bringing a carry-on roller bag and a backpack. It's also based on the knowledge that on most flights, by the time they are loading zone five, almost all the space is full. It is not a sure thing since there is no real way they know in real time the luggage situation of every passenger. They aren't "lying" to us, they're making their best guess.

When people ignore the warnings, sometimes its...fine and they (flight attendants) figure it out. That being said, even figuring it out leads to delays. Sometimes its not fine and I've seen it lead to significant delays, especially in the winter.

So what would Air Canada rather people complain about? A known and fairly well established (though inconsistently enforced) baggage policy that's been in place for years, or delays?

That being said - I DO agree that it's a problem of mostly their own creation. Charging for bags at lower fare levels has forced people to lean towards packing as much as they can into carry-ons. So now we have people with roller bags, large backpacks AND sometimes something like a CPAP machine which they're supposed to let you carry on.

It's not a great situation. But the overreacting in the replies is WILD.
