@Tyreanjr@SkyNews Because his story was the most recent story on the ‘World Cup updates’ page that it links to at the time they posted it. He’s been denied entry into Canada
@makedowdyrowdy@Samwinton99 Except there are 134 college teams and 20 teams in the premier league. Let’s be fair if we’re going to compare.
Let’s also recognise that there are a serious amount of teenagers playing in the premier league, but college football is your route into the NFL.
@Phinhead83@EmilAllie@imzftbi Yeah I get that, but warm up games still being played on them.
Is what it is. Nobody knows how the actual pitches will hold up yet as you’ve said, it’s a new way of laying grass they’re trying.
Only time will tell!
@Phinhead83@EmilAllie@imzftbi This isn’t sod this is the turf England played on last night.
It’s been recently laid and can move and tear because it hasn’t had enough time to root properly.
I know it’s mostly artificial turf in the NHL, but if it wasn’t, they’d refuse to play on this
@ArokianKan@EmilAllie@imzftbi That’s because it was played in winter and there were few friendlies played because the club seasons had only just paused.
England didn’t play any friendlies at all before that World Cup.
@EmilAllie@imzftbi They’re complaining about players playing games on turf recently laid on top of concrete which is dangerous, not that it’s ruining the World Cup.
Everyone wants to win the World Cup, but more so they don’t want their club team’s star striker coming back with a torn ACL
